Legit source, but this is literally the only information we have on the 989 at the moment. This one picture. Time for the hype train!

The 989 will be available in the America's in October. I assume the drivers going to the WC this year will have priority obtaining this chassis. By the way, they covered the chassis with a body for a reason. They do not want the competition to see it.

Why does the cooling head look tilted back?

I'd guess the body shroud does not properly fit all chassis motor placement and thus the motor is loose and place best possible for a pic.

It will fit all current models just fine. Granted the Wheel and Body Mount cut-outs will be different, yet the Motor / Air-filter / Fuel Tank placements are pretty standard these days. As stated its an illusion of the Photo. Dale usually does a great job of ensuring current offerings fit the latest standard chassis.

More excited to see Salven, Merlin and Greiner running at the Worlds with the new car.

Nice Mugen copy of the side belt tensioner.

The 3rd shock is tried many times, I even have driven a BMT active 94 with in front 3 shocks

I could also argue that Mid motor mounting in electric touring cars have also been tried before, and yet - it seems to be all the rage with several companies recently developing conversion kits.

”Borrowing” from a rival manufacturer is nothing new. It has happened in this industry for years. The important takeaway is that everyone keeps working to improve their cars, and that benefits the end customer... Now, if only they could package the better driving skills of team drivers in a bottle. 😂

Wow, I thought they would sprout a rear diffusor again, like what HB tried to do, lol. I wonder are they going to offer the DTS System as well. I wish if anything with the new cars, we would see something simple like Lamberto's front body brace to prevent rub and such. Either way, Cool that a new car is out.

Now I am just waiting on what Mugen may have in store for us.

True but I believe the last one I have seen was the LAB-7 in a complete different era of batteries, tires and motors.

In the past Serpent took credits of an own design while it was copied, Xray still does. Today Serpent is more carefull with that, no fancy stories, just publish the car. But I wonder why they have chosen for this and not the old style. The text with the picture:
New side belt tensioners improve clearance with the engine manifold. It also reduces vibrations on the sidebelt.

With Infinity buying all top drivers that would be difficult.
