For a little while. That servo won't last you very long.

Install a good 1600 battery with a good charge ($35.) Then do like all the rest are saying install a good steering servo. I use the Airtronics (I forgot the number) 200.oz @ .8 sec. or a get a good JR 9000 series servo. Either one will set you back $80-$100. The improvement is well worth it.

With the servo disconnected from the bellcrank, turn the bellcrank manually by hand and make sure that there isnt any binding. The steering should turn freely, but sometimes there may be a little bit of bind at full droop. Excessive bind can be causing your inconsistent handling. If I were to race an RTR the electronics would have to go. You can only do so much with weak electronics. I think electronics is a good investment since you can move them from car to car.

+2 on the hitec 5955. IMO, best truggy steering servo. I never had a problem, and according to others who needed it, costumer service is awesome.

These are all very good repsonses to his question but the best thing to do with the CRT is to remove the front sway bar. This will make it very easy to turn.
