Turning is really slow...

Okay so I have a Jammin X1-CR RTR buggy and the turning is really slow and it doesn't turn sharp to the right.
I believe it is my steering servo.
Is there any way to fix this or do I need to buy new stuff?

Ideas on the cheapest things to buy to fix it? - I don't want to spend $200 on some fancy radio or anything.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure all you will need to do is get a better servo. RTR servos are always crappy, so invest in a nice one in the beginning. Look for one that has at least 120oz/in of torque, but the more the better. Around 200oz/in is probably the best for a buggy.

Definately try to get one over 180oz for buggy. You'll enjoy it more ;)

Ace 1313 will fix all your problems, you can purchase one for about $70, 175 ounces of torque ( If i remember correct that is right) and probably faster than you want if you are a newb, but you will get used to it.

A new servo will help a lot . But if you don`t have a good setup a new servo won`t do much .

So all I would need would be a new steering servo?
No need for new radios or anything?

yes, all you need is a new steering servo.

I just bought a JR9100T, it was 120$ but its power in awesome, and JR offers a 3 year warranty!!! how can you go wrong with that? for 120$ you will basically never buy another steering servo again.

you wont need a new radio or receiver, just unplug your wrecked servo and plug the new one in. (remember: the black cable goes on the right side when plugging it into the receiver)

does the radio you using have EPA adjustments?

2005 crf 450 08-17-2008 10:43 PM

EPA doesnt have anything to do with the speed of his servo, does it?

I'm a newb and i had the same problem. ofna rtr servos are made low torque
with plastic gears. Ibought a HITECH STEAL GEAR #hs-645mg from tower hobbies for around $45 and it works great. if you have it spend it on a better one, but this one does the job

no it doesnt but it will make a big diffrence when heb blows up the new servo from it having too much strain on it. he needs a radio with epa to help the servo last longer
