I run +7 hex to get the track width to 190mm with foams. The one thing to remember is that you have a spool up front, driving style here becomes critical to keeping entry speed up, if you go in to hard on the steering, you get the front wheels sliding, this will scrub off lots of speed, if your tracks are very tight, and you are still struggling for entry speed, you may find a gear diff up front is going to help you alot there, by letting the front rotate better.

He was running at the Tamiya America track which is a flowy high speed track. High 13-low 14 second lap times for 17.5.

Finally done building it.
I had to use a spacer for the front for VTA wheels.
I love the battery holder

The only thing so far.... has been the turnbuckles coming off when I try to adjust the lenght. Do they come off easily during the race if you bump something?

*The rear toe in the picture was like 4.5º. I changed them to 3º.

I also did this mod (thanks for the idea) but when I tested my car, I noticed that I have problem with grip on my right rear tire. so I reconfigured the batt placement and add some weight up front to replicate the weight of the servo (well sort of...) And this is what i ended up, its working very well now...

sorry for the big pics..

cheers!

You need to either tap the threads into the ball ends, or run the turnbuckle right in and out a couple of times to cut a thread, then things will adjust easily and the ballends will not pop off when being changed.

Nice work! After driving it for a while I ended up putting the speed control right behind the battery. It is balanced like yhat.

http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/Univ...pringChart.pdf

I think the Spec-R springs are real close to the XRay springs.

I hand tested the white ones from the kit and they did feel right about in the middle of the Blue and Gold AE springs I had. And the red Spec-R springs are super hard. So the chart is probably right there too.

But they sure look good. I even opted for the red fan mount.

What they should do is include the alum spur/belt gears and charge MORE for the ultra light lower rotating mass plastic ones

Believe it or not, I'm using the tamiya trf417 rear hubs and ront c hubs, works perfectly fine and a bit more durable.
