yep, still got one. i took it apart a couple of years ago and cut the comm and threw some bearings in it and ran it on our oval one night. that thing was screaming. it was great, everyone was wondering what i was running and the "old-timers", lol, couldn't believe that's what it was.

Nutfluff, thanks for voicing your position on the MVP on TT.
You can post it here too if you want.
We do hope you will come to the race. But I SURE understand
how you feel. Only way to change things is to raise objections!

PS Now you can go back to the "good ole' days" !!

Alright now we are remembering the old days, I love to think about the beginning. Judi I sure have seen a closed endbell motor my first motors that I can remember was a slot machine, Ironman, and then I ran nothing but the midnights i loved those motors they were the stuff back in the day. I also ran the 1200, and the 1400 batts from sanyo i think. I sure miss the old days when my dad paid for all my stuff haha.

what was the motor with the rocket on it? the pocket rocket or something. hehe, pocket rocket. i remember those. my first true modified motor was a black diamond 14 turn. i also remember when the 1400 zip packs came out in the pink shrink wrap with the yellow stickers. i think we bought like 6 of those things and they were awesome. that's when the first track i went to would have like 90 people every saturday night. we'd start at 5 and end at like 1-2 am. man, those were the good times. yeah, i was fully sponsored by mom and dad motorsports. lol.

harjo:what was the motor with the rocket on it?
Twister Pocket Rocket. 36 deg. pink can. We used to run those in the Expert Stock classes. They were even legal at NORRCA races. They were fast.
KevinHawk: midnights i loved those motors
Those were great motors for there day. I think I still have a few of those left.

Good Morning BanzaiScott!!
Yes, you have some of those left. Also, 30 degree, those were
NORRCA legal also. Guess I need to start a "Vintage" motor
sale page on the web-site!!!!!!

If you start selling the Vintage motors you will need to include a how to flier for cutting the motor. It would go something like this:
1. Take motor and pound motor shaft on concret floor to "loosen" the endbell.
2. Cut motor as normal.
3. Gently pry back the motor endbell "locking" tabs.
4. Reinstall arm and endbell.
5. Using a screw driver or a punch, tap on the "locking" tabs to resecure the endbell to the can.
And no I have did this!
Oh you will also need to put a warning label on them to install capacitors!

I had a better day of racing at so cal last night. A pretty good turnout with 5 full heats. I TQ'd and won stk 2wd. I think I finally got that new car setup and I am ready for the JBRL this weekend!
Truck I had some minor issues with the driver but got some good practice in and I am ready to just have some fun in the class since I have that one wrapped up. I wonder how far I can bump up?

Okay, I may date myself, but my first motor was a Mabuchi 540 silver can which came in my Cox Scorpion.... This motor was quickly replaced with one of the original Race Prep motors that had orange on the end bell (closed end bell stock motor). These were the motors to have back then. And the battery back then was the 1200SCR Sanyo which you could actually dump in stock class. Back then, the Mod class was only 4 minutes. Okay back to matching batteries......
