That was a great report Shangrila, really enjoyed reading it and seeing the pictures. Perhaps one day I will get the chance to go to one of these events.

What was your impression of the overall standard of racing? What was the best class to watch?

PS if you open up a new image account (would be a shame for the public to lose sight of those pics), just post the link to the account rather than links to the images, because they get viewed with every page impression from RCTech - adds up to a lot of views because RCTech is such a popular board.

Default a few videos..

Hi Tamiya fans/friends,

I took part in the Tamiya Euro Finals. I did a mini blog on my club’s website during the event, and whilst photos are not visible here, you can chew on some of my videos of the qualis in ‘Euro GT’ and other stuff in French though..

http://www.ermcgs.com/?page_id=49&mi...ewtopic&t=70.0

Finals will be uploaded soon..

Cheers and Enjoy,
Cham

P.S. Pierre it was nice meeting you. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to see your pics . Hope you will be able to solve the problem..

The photos are now back up!

I paid for a pro account for one year, and once the immediate high number of views passes the photos will remain viewable when the account reverts to free in 12 months.

Thanks for all your positive comments! They make the reporting feel worthwhile.

Sosidge: the standard was a varied but the timesheets tell a story: On the first day I was surprised how varied the standards were, but split high proportion very good, small number average. Eg there was a 28sec best lap on Thursday. But by sunday there were no gaps larger than 3ish secs within a heat. Goes to show what a long way practice on a track goes.

Aside of the odd few who needed the practice time the standard was very good indeed. As an example one of the drivers (Hi Cue Ball ) was a former Tamiya World Champion, and many others national open (ie non Tamiya series) champions. It was a great place to sharpen up your skills by learning off others.

Cham (above) - what a super guy. We met Cham at the door on the first morning lining up and heseemed to be the lone guy driving from Geneva to race. He quietly went on to second place in the GT (mod) class!! Consistent, fast and able to drive with a camera dangling of his glasses, that's pretty cool. Our 2 HU mod drivers are hawking over your vids now looking for their cars in the frame . Thanks for posting up the vids. If you'd said you were doing the blog you could have used my laptop anytime.

Best class to watch?

imo F1!

followed by Mini

and then GT

The crowds loved the F1 in particular. The MC on mic announced it in German as 'The King Class'

Interesting what controllers F1 drivers and mod drivers choose
Sanwa is clearly the preferred option.
