Foam tires
What kind of glue do you use for fixing chunks? I tried some Elmers acid free rubber cement which doesn't hold very well. I'll try some SHOO GOO tonight and see how that goes, it seems to work for everthing else.

i have used super glue to fix chunks, butthe problem with it is that the foam wears down and the super glue doesnt so you have the hard pieces left as the tire wears.

CA holds well but it also soaks in and makes a hard spot on the tire, not good.

Super glue works good for repairing foam tires......just dont go to over board on the glue so you have a hard spot. Heck I've had to use CA on brand new TRC tires out of the package .

The best glue I ever used for chunk repair was TRC's tire glue. It's a contact cement made for gluing foam tires to the rims. It stays flexible, so the repaired tire doesn't develop a funny wear pattern, yet the repaired chunk stays in place.
Tower still sells it, so your local hobby shop can likely get it too. It's TRC #902. Here's a link to it on Tower's website:

I agree TRC tire glue is the best to use.

Thanks, I will pick some up.

Thanks for the tip Trips. I will get my track to order some. Been using CA myself. Had a bad blowout sat, lost 3mm in the center of the tire in a race. Brand new, still at 60mm. Had to have happened in the begining as the chunk was smooth all around.

Thanks BDR. I have both and a truer so I will try on one of my older tires and see. I usually glue and then true to remove large area's. That 3mm hole is a pain though. Hate to lose a new tire!
