Can't go wrong with either, ask around, try and see if you can get people to let you drive theirs before you decide. Buy based on the buggy's driving style, ask in the buggy threads and see what driving style would suit you best.

Also make sure your LHS stocks parts for one of those buggys.

Well i drive 1/10 electric 2wd buggies. What would you recommend based off of that? I basically just drive 2wd sc and 2wd buggies. Thanks again

Would you say you drive on or off throttle most of the time? Are you an aggressive driver or really smooth and patient?

Having driven both for an extended period of time, I have found I like the 8.2 much better. I feel, if you're a beginner ( sounds like you are to 1/8 ) then the HB is your best bet, of all available buggies. It is very easy to drive and learn with. It tends to push, IMO, which is good for beginners. The 8.2 is very agressive in every sense of the word compared to the HB, and it is definitely better in the rough ( box stock to box stock ). For upgrade type stuff, on the HB, if you get the Hara Ed, the ONLY thing you'll really need will be the Alum HB steering servo horn. As you gain more experience with it, you can look into what are called the "Tessman" mods, described here ( http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-of...on-thread.html ).

On the 8.2, I will admit I never drove mine box stock. I got the FT rear Alum hubs to use the 3rd camber hole, I got the standard Ghea pistons and Kyosho blue springs. Aside from that and some basic set up stuff, mine is box stock and loving it. A lot of people are using different suspension pills, the new front hub set up, and or drilling the rear tower for what's called the 0 hole. All in an effort to get the rear planted. I feel I have saved myself some money simply by playing with other aspects of set up and could not be happier.
