how do you guys run FDRs 5 and below? Losi's smallest spur is 116T, and I just refuse to make an effort to get those layshafts you guys have been talking about.

I can't imagine how much rear bulkhead material I have to grind just to get newer 6200mahs to fit in Oh well, still luv my losi anyway

Why would someone need to use a 6200mah batt?

You can get it to work if you have a PRS adapter or one of the new layshafts. I ran 4.0 all the time in 13.5 before boost speedo's were a big deal. I ran 64 pitch spurs though. 112/51 will put you at 4.02 FDR with 64 pitch spurs/pinions.

You can also help yourself by using the 41T diff pulley on both differentials.

i.e. a 112/51 as previously illustrated will put you at 3.91

The type-r is one of the most potent VTA cars out there because of the turn in it has and the short arms. As for the FDR i was able to get to 4.2 w/ stock kevlar 118 and larger pinions. in VTA i've run two back to back 8min heats w/ the same 5600 and still had 20% left in the pack, you must have a huge track to need a 6xxx lipo.

I'm running a 3.6 with the PRS adapter. It's the best.

Packs like that are generally considered to he softer unless you run mod. A 40c would have more punch.

The main reason you get the FF layshaft is it spreads the pulleys so they don't hit your lipo. It saves you sanding down pulleys to do the same thing.
