If you are going to spend $170 on a TC1030 then I would just get a Cell master. That is unless you plan on going Lipo.

After reading that over again Casper is right, Cell Master is the best choice for Nimh, if you plan to use lipo in the future then the Silent Charger or Team Checkpoint, or like I mentioned earlier get the Cell Master now, if you decide to go lipo later you can get a Lipo specific charger (plus they are under $100). You are going to spend at least $150 for a quality Nimh charger, and with Nimh batts being as finiky as they are, you will need a good Peak style charger, I perfer the Cell Master because it has the temp sensor built in, you can run a battery heatsink II off of it, you can change the peak sensitivity (A Must for any Charger you decide to go with), they are small and light, etc.. . With the Silent Charger the Peak Sensitivy is either Low Med or High (unlike the Cell Master where you can adjust it by 1mv incriments), it will only charge Nimh up to 6amps (the Cell Master will go up to 10amps, not that I would recommend you ever go over 6amps), the battery setup isn't as in depth as the Cell Master (which may be fine for you, but I like having control over all the adjustments), and it only has 3 adustable setups (Cell Master has 3 fully adjustable Peak setups, the CTX Charge, and Step Charge you will not use). If you go with a Cell Master LMK and I will give you my Nimh charging profile, that was given to me by a factory racer

I might just buy used as there is an abundance of used much more stuff out for sale now. How is the much more warranty and service, things like that?

The best way to get a new one is go to your LHS or Track and have them order you one, also be sure if you don't buy one from you LHS, that you get it from a US seller such as Nexus Racing, if you buy one from an Asian website or ebay seller, Much More USA will not service it. Used is fine as well, you can get one on the sale thread here. As for service it is a little slow but so is everyone else (Ko, LRP, etc..)

Has anyone used the CTX cell master to charge a 3200 lipo pack?
Any idea how long it will take (charging at 1A)?

I would open it up and check it out, I would use a clean dry rag to clean the contacts if you can get to them

I have kind of already done that. The issue is the buttons have a tall post on them that supports the buttons. The contact is under this post. I have not been willing to pull too much on the post to see if there is dirt on the contacts. I blew some low pressure air around the contacts and it seemed to help a little. I have some high pressure air in a can I plan on blasting in there next.

I personally think it's poor quality/manufacturing. I have 2 cell masters and with one it seems that I have to almost hit the buttons with a hammer for it to register the button being selected. I should take it apart and see if perhaps the case/board are mis-aligned, but that is the way it came from the factory. Then again with my CTX-D, every time I push a button it seems to register it as 2 button clicks.

With my MMR stuff I found that pressing the button and holding for a quick split second works best, come to think of it I used someone elses and it was the same way, could be that there is a small delay on the buttons

I can't get to charge my M8 1100mah battery pack .. after the long lock out set for about 20mins. I'm only getting 125+mah charge... why is that? but if i will charge it on other chargers it will charge..

im using 6mv delta peak, and charging at .5amps

i tried it with other cell master and no luck.
but on other chargers it will.. what do you think?

i noticed when it reaches a certain voltage like 11.xxx something it will automatically stop.

but in other chargers it exceeds 11.xxx or even reached 12.xxx volts..

becasue the MM is a real sensitive charger. a good thing.

normally on any other charger you would have 3mv/cell thats 3mv x 8cells for the muchmore = 24mv.

so change your peak settings to 24-30mv and try charge again.
