Remember that and you'll realize the person holding the radio is to blame for the time lost from a crash. You don't know what to expect, some are fast, some are slow, try not to count on a 'good' marshall to improve your overall time. There's no training camp for marshalls trying to make everyone marshall equally well. Be nice to them, yelling or being nuts with the throttle or your mouth goes nowhere fast.

I will say this. My biggest pet peeve is the guy that yells on the stand to hurry and get his car, but then when he's out there, he is doing everything, but turn marshalling.. We have 1 guy at our local track that does this, and man it chaps my hide to hear him yelling, yet if you crash in front of him, he MIGHT flip you over..
