Tamiya charges a premium for TRF gear - because they can. Once you get hooked on the Stars... its an expensive addiction.

I dont like the R3 tho... looks is ugly.. shoulda stayed with regular graphite

go the yokomousa.com web site and check out the new CGM shaft drive. don't have one so i can't give a report on it, i'll probably be getting one in a week or two, i'll report back and let you know what i think

Anyways i would like graphite on my car, and that CGM looks like a TC3.

Hi Guys,
Xenon Racing who makes the gears for the Pro 4 has made a prototype of the Evo 3 one way gear. I am in the midst of testing it and will let you guys know the result of that.
With proper shiming and the backing plate the Evo 3 should be a real killer.
The balance of the car is the closest to the Pro 4 among all the shaft drive cars and aside of the front one way gear it is probably the most bullet proof of all shaft drive cars.

Hey, I just sold my Pro 3 and I am looking into Shaft Drives now. I decided to pick either one of these. For parts, I can order it from my lhs if they do not carry. Which one do you guys prefer? Why? Any problems report with the car?

both cars are very good. in my opinion.. drive both cars if there are people at your track that have them..and see what you like. you cant beat tamiya tho when it comes to durability. AND you can run TCS races if they have them where you're at.

yes, like tamiya's hub is $8 and Yokomo's hub is $6.. tamiya's shaft for $20 and yokomo's shaft is $24... something like that.. right?
