The center post steering mounts off the top deck, doesn't touch the actual chassis.

Mike- Thanks for the pics and the explanation. I thought that it connected through the chassis to the top plate.

Jeez Mike, I was expecting a setup sheet when I clicked on your attachment, not the results. Nice job at the Novak race and thanks for your help!

i just wanted to say thanks to the Corally crew. they were a ton of help. especially Toso and Robbie. The car was really good all week at the Novak but found out after the Novak that i had a bad cap on my speedo. still put it in the B but should have been in the A. thanks again to the Corally crew.

Good pictures Mike.

I have this excellent mod on both my carpet and asphalt cars.

I also used a small rat-tail file to slot the holes for the ball ends outward to give the ball cups more clearance with each other.

Considering making a small plate to reposition the ball ends beyond the end of the center lever assembly to get mounting points closer to front pulley. But, it would be really nice if Corally could give us a fully modified center lever assembly to take care of that issue and the poor geometry angle of the steering turnbuckles (without having to use special jointballs).

On some of the set up sheets from corally.com, they have droop at 7.5 and 8.5 (rubb/carpet) then others say 2.5 up (which is off ride heigth, i assume) well is there another way of checking, the manuel inst very clear. Any other advice for rubber/carpet would be helpful. I ussually check droop of off ride height and 7.5 seems insane, I am new to the car

Anytime you see a number like 7.5 for droop, it refers to uptravel. Uptravel is measured by how far you can lift an end of a car from static (resting) ride hieght to where the tires just start to leave the ground.

So if your ride hieght is 5mm, and an end of your car lifts to a total distance of 7.5mm, measured from chassis to ground, to where the tires just start to come off the ground, you have about 2.5mm of uptravel.

hope this helps.
