The diffs work fine if you dont let them slip(no slip no heat no heat no melt)

I have run them with 8turns.

I tend to go with steel, period. They weigh a bit more, but I'm still right near the minimum anyway. I prefer a reliable car that I can drive fast over a plastic car that may melt in the middle of a race.

BTW, my diffs don't slip. Not in my TC3, not ever. But I'm still not going to go to plastic. Alum, maybe, but not plastic.

Trinityracingnut......If you melted your diff's maybe your car was diffing in the corners and thats why you melted them. If your car is not setup exactly in mod foam first thing you will notice is how bad and how fast your diffs get crappy. So I would look into that setup of yours and see whats really going on. I would almost bet to say that the car was on 3 wheels in some corners.....this was the first time you ran mod foam right?

you should try the irs outdrives thay are awsome but you will also need to use irs pin cushions thay sell the dog bones with them are you can buy just the pin cushion if you buy just the pin cushions use a slotcar pinion puller to push out the old pin you will also need ass part #6575 to replace the old diff nut also try sanding your diffrings with some 600 grit sandpapper befor you build it

Trinityracenut: I would second Kevin K's advice. Where is your car set for droop now? You need VERY little if the track has any traction.

LOCKED DIFF

I'm new to TC3 but it already gave me the 1st place to B-Main & am so proud even as a stock TC3.

Now i wonder, how the locked diff worked...i mean how to do it, as Barry front setup did? Is it just fully locked(turned) diff, meaning both tires going same way when turned? help me.

Try going on the cmldistribution site for a blank set up sheet you can print out.

I'm afraid i don't know their exact web address but if you go on links in www.brca.org you should find them.

Good luck.

Thanx guys i will look into the droop thing but i have always run droop. it helps the car load in the corners and make it easier to drive but with foam i dont think i need it lol. So if im at 5.5 and 4.5 do i go higher on the numbers? thanx kevin
