Default Kyosho Fantom - Sprocket Needed!

Hi All,
I think this is the one thread I haven't yet posted my need for this part:

KYOC3760 EF-009

I have a Kyosho Fantom that's all ready to run except for a small crack in this crucial sprocket piece that creates a big problem with the operation of the drive train. I've been searching for it for what seems like forever! If anyone knows where I can get my hands on one of these I'd really appreciate it. It is the piece the chain wraps around:

Thanks!

You may want to try asking Bill Cline at ClineHobbies.com . He deals in a lot of vintage stuff and hard to find items. If he don't have it he may know who does.

Thanks...I've whined to Bill about this a few times already!

Bad timing. I had some old Kyosho parts in my hands yesterday and one of them was the EF-09 I know for sure . But I didnīt know what Kyosho car is using these parts so didnīt buy them. Actually thought of a nitro car.
The bad thing is I will have no access to them for some weeks or even month I think. Also being overseas.

If you can find that part it will be pricey.

The EF-9 is not just a sprocket but also the oneway unit. Sprocket and oneway are integral with each other. The oneway is crucial to the function of the 4wheel drivetrain it will be hard to find.

If its just a cracked sprocket, and the oneway is still functional, I would just try to repair the sprocket with some strong ca glue or JB Weld.

They don't have it listed but these guys are probably your best bet to inquire with on Ebay.

I have thought of that also but they donīt seem to have this. At least not at their ebay shop.

@ sundevil67
Do you really want racing this valuable vintage car? I personally never would as destroying anything would result in car what maybe never could be completed again.

Parts for these things have a funny way of showing up every once in a while. Its just a matter of being persistent and lucky.

Someone is going to make a little extra money selling parts on these old 1/12 cars.

I need to dig out my Corally SP12-G2, those damper grease must be all dried up now after sitting there for 13 years.

Thanks for all of the tips...guess I'll just keep searching! I already have a 2nd Fantom that is "complete" that will remain on the shelf...but this one I want to run. If it gets banged up, so be it, but the plan is to stick to carpet if I can ever get it going. Most of the parts are interchangeable with some of the other Kyosho 1/12s, so usually it isn't impossible to find parts..but when it comes to that unique chain-driven system, it is pretty tough.

Take the sprocket out of the shelf queen car....It won't matter if the shelf car has a broken sprocket...

Thumbs up So this is where all the cool guys hang out!

Hi all,

Maybe not as old as some of you but I did race NiCd/brushed 1/12th BITD. Also, coming from Canada, I wasn't anywhere "happening" but I had fun. The local club raced everything from 1/10th and 1/8th off-road to on-road but my favorite time of year was the winter carpet season. THE class to run was the 12s. On our smallish tracks the 1/12 cars were king and the racing was intense. I remember not blinking for 8 minutes at a time!

Anyway, I have some pics to post but I'll come back and do that when I can.

Sigh, yeah, that's the conclusion I'm coming to...hate to tear that one apart, but it'll be worth it. I have too many cars collecting dust.

1/12 is still my favorite class of all time.

We had this indoor track inside a small shopping mall, the track was pretty small but we were getting 5 to 6 heats of 1/12 with most of drivers racing mod class. We were running 13, 14 triple like the tri-sonic from Reedy, Maxtec, and Trinity D3 & D3.5. One driver was running Corally handwound mod motor, I still remember the clean winding. Even though the track was small, we had sedans 27 turn stock and F1s 27 turn stock. It was so much fun back in those days.

Got some old Kawada M300 1/12th cars and parts and trying to restore them now. Looking for manuals for M300, M300EX and M300RS. These are the first 3 cars Kawada was making.

All I have is the M300RSX, M300RSW and the M300SX. Would any of those be similar enough to be of any help?
