If you have a newer kit you may already have the 1.3mm pistons as in the last month or so the kits have had them included.

For what its worth-I tested front shocks with 1.3mm pistons and 60 wt oil on med/high bite ozite foam tires. I thought I could gain some corner speed via 60 wt oil and stk pistons. I made the chnage and indeed the car would not dig. It also pushed. But I went with it and took the CA off the front tires, sauced more and even wetn as far as going down from a 33lb spring to a 30 lb spring.
I found that with the shocks packed up-your right on the limit of a push and tire size became big. When the tires were 2.25" the car seemed better with the stk pistons/60. But when they got down to 2.17"-there was no recovering from the push. I then went to 50 wt oil and stk pistons and it feels good now.
But-I am pretty sure tht in all but the highest grip-that going back to 1.3 pistons and 60 wt oil is the right choice.

60/50 seemed good when the traction was low at vegas.. once it came up, the car was just obsorbing all of the speed in the turns. 70/50 was better... and if i had another qualifier I would have liked to have tried 80/60..
running the 1.3 pistons. w/57.5 mm tires.
Rick M made the show, he was running .9's w/ 60/40... 56mm tires...

Will you be running rubber or foam, carpet or asphalt?
My experience with the kit foam/carpet would be the spring kits and the 3.4mm top plate.

The newer kits include the updated chassis, 1.3 pistons, and white pulleys. The swaybars are also included.
