Thats why the 8ight spring adaptors are great...gives more spring rate choices with out the extra weight.
It seems like the stock blacks are a little soft when it's in it's orginal fat girl form.

Really? So not many guys are running 1/8th shocks? I've got a set of D8's I was thinking about putting on.

Important diff info"

I put 3 new diffs in my SCTE a while back and desided to see if the
"diff fluid" silicone or "diff grease" held up better.

I put diff fluid in the front & center & stock grease in the rear which takes
the most abuse in this truck IMO.

Took all 3 apart last night and the front/center had wore out sun gear
shims. The washers behind the planetary gears were pounded into the
back of the gears and the blocks.

The rear diff with stock gease had no wear on anything anywhere at all.
The whole diff looked like new except the grease was real blackish gray
in color.

So IMO the silicone diff fluid makes a great tuning tool but a crappy lube
for the diff parts.

All 3 diffs were new at the start of this test. I ran 40+ batteries through
it to get these results with AE SC10 2wd gear diff pins in all 3 diffs.

Food for thought"

Thanks, I saw those and will probably pick up a set. I hope they're not as tough to get off as the 4x4 slash nuts. I helped someone remove those a few weeks ago and wow it was a pain.

Then I ran it same gearing on 3s and that is the sweet spot w/15* timing on the endbell.
Now I run only a 7.5 on 4s w/15* on endbell
This is only when I run on tracks that don't care for ROAR.
Usually on the ROAR tracks it is the 1410 geared @ 42/14 or the 4.5 geared the same too with no timing on the endbell.

I'm using the SNR ones w/Jammin mounts and I am very happy with them.
Do you need 1/8 scale shocks?
Others would say "No You Don't"
But who does what other's say anyways!

I suggest these wheel nuts also. The reason I use these over the Traxxas is because these come in a pack of 6 instead of 4 and only cost $.50 more. Yes, they're just as difficult to get off, but that means the nuts aren't going to come off mid race. What I do to take them off...i have a AE nutdriver set, they have a hole that goes through the body, I insert a hex tip into that hole to get leverage and twist. I lost 2 stock wheel nuts in 2 weeks, one during a qualifier and the other during a Main. That's when I switched to the Traxxas wheel nuts and never had a problem. They were getting old and rounded so I wanted to switch them out, that's when I bought the Losi wheel nuts. Great purchase.

Use the blue thread lock, it holds better than nyloc and still comes right off, I use it every time. Or buy a bag of nuts, they are only good for a few times. I just put on the aluminum ofna serrated nuts I got from nitrohouse under the scte hop up's, they are .7g lighter each over stock.

I noticed lastinght that my rear diff housing is cracked where it pockes thru the bottom of the chassis. I just put a de skid plate over it! Lol! I've ran 8 batteries thru it.

I'm using a SC10 2WD body temporarily on mine right now while I have my body sent out to painter.

Because they are serrated you don't need to crank down very hard for them to stay. Just enough to bite into the plastic. If you crank down on them like a std nut they are very hard to get off.

its not really if they are needed. its more of a personal choice. Alot of guys have done it. I did it and love it. I'm sure the stockers are fine but I like not ever having to open up my shocks. The D8's are great. Almost no maintenance on these things and I have been bashing hard on them for over 7 months. I had them on my slash 4x4 and threw them on the "heavyweight lover" as soon as I got it. Haven't looked back.

PM jmc23, he has some replacement grease,, VERY similar in consistancy to the stock grease. I think he is going to sell some in a 'repack' kit of sorts.. have to verify w/ him though.

Just in case anyone was wondering.. Salad maybe front page material..

The Orion 90c 6500mAH lipo's (bullet style) are 286 grams

This is by far the best weight I've seen for a 6500mAH pack that is suppose to stand up to 10+ minutes of hard racing

I plan on testing both the CRC 6500 race pack as well as the Orion 6500 CarbonPro 90c race pack this weekend for pro-series. I have a feeling I'm going to love both.

I think I'm going to need to start selling off some lipo's though now.. LOL maybe my 5400mAH 50c speedzones will have to go ;P
