i am thinking of getting a msx to try out. i have never had one and plan to race carpet,stock,foam with it. i have a t2 already but i have always liked the 415msx and figured i would try it out. any pointers or ideas that i should know about? the car i am looking at is the msx not the mre. thanks for any help that is provided

Go to Tryhards website for some great set up tip's as a starting point and good luck with the car.
There are a great bunch of guy's on here and help is on it way I am sure.
I run outdoor on rubber and I am not much help to you on indoor setup's.

Hi guys,
Right had an opportunity to test out my changes to the MRE this weekend... mainly to get the car to steer mid corner. As I already posted, I've added more ackerman spacers (to match the steering on the Evo5), and changed a few other small things.
The result? Well the car was simply stunning today, no steering issues what so ever, and numerous other comments about how good and hooked up my car looked. Was good enough for easily my best result of the year so far, Q'ing 8th O/a in 27t at the last round of Carpet Wars over here... my first big A final
Anyway, heres the setup I used. Feel free to give it a try, and let me know your comments.
Carpet Wars 06/07 27t Rd6 Setup
Sufice to say, it would seem that shimming the ball studs forward, combined with the D/D blocks, has solved the mid corner steering issue I had.
To say the least, I'm absolutely ecstatic with todays result...

Also putting on the EVO V short arms will help with the car on carpet.

I ran on the weekend and the car with the changes was good but as i powered out I did loose the tail a few times. the problem to was the heat , and man was it hot. I will run it one more time at the next evening meeting and give that a go.

Front:
x-ray 25lb spring
60wt w/ 2 hole piston
3rd hole down on shock tower
inner most hole on susp.(short arms)
5 degree caster
1.5 camber
longest front link with 3.75mm shims under inner link
D/D blocks with .5mm shim under rear block and 1mm under front
.5 degree toe out
blue (kinked) swaybar
1mm droop
wheelbase: 4mm behind front arms
HPI pro4 knuckle/bearings with older tamiya axle(orig axle from 415MS)
PARMA magenta with glued edge
Rear:
x-ray 17.5lb spring
40wt w/3hole
3rd hole down on rear shock tower
inner most hole on susp. (short arm)
2 degree camber
0 degree rear hub
2.5 degree rear toe(2.5 when grip comes up)
camber link: inner hole on bulkhead and middle hole on hub w/ 1mm spacer under outer link and .5mm under inner
X/D blocks with .5mm shim under both
wheelbase: 6mm in front of rear arms
yellow swaybar
1.5mm droop
PARMA magenta unglued
