Jimmy, I just switched back to Byrons. Its always consistant from gallon to gallon and lubes very well. Even with thier 9%, motors last a long time, run crisp, and tune well. I never use afo and have yet to see any hint of rust. I think it would be a good move.

Byrons is good fuel. It is one of my top choices for sure. After reading the Contingency Award rules, the first thing that comes to mind is that the average racer has a very slim chance of benefiting from it? It says -

Qualifying Categories:
(Contingencies paid in top category of each class, ie Expert 1/8 Buggy):

This tells me that only the top tier of racers will more than likely benefit. The qualifying races, are pretty stacked races. At least here in West. At any of these races, you will have the top drivers in that Top Category (Pro Buggy,Pro Truggy, etc.) Most of those drivers are either already running Byrons, or are sponsored by other fuel mfgs. and cannot run other brands anyways? Seems like kind of a strange program, IF I am reading it correctly?

I am an analyst by trade, so maybe I am reading too much between the lines here........

In any case, this does not take anything away from the quality of the fuel. I personally think it is great, and do run it from time to time, based on availability.

I dont know.... Just MY .02. Maybe someone else can go to their website and confirm my reading of the rules.

I have no sponsors and I run Byron's and on the most part I'm an average driver and I got contingence money from Byron's in 2009 for making the Amain at crcrc midwest gas champs.

I'd switch over in a heart beat. I've wanted to try it for some time now. Also in the SoCal area and run ARC and Barona.

There is a possibility that it may be available locally once again.

Stay tuned

Cool! Congrats on that. Was that in the Pro Class?

The website shows non factory drivers getting paid through 3rd, and factory drivers get paid through 10th (A-Main).

We've looked into it Bill and are revisiting the option as their program could prove to coincide with our philosophy of helping the "little" guy.

i am seeing what i can do about the "helping the little guy" issue

i do believe in getting rewarded for your efforts but there are a lot of racers out there who expect things and get pissed if they dont get what they think they should (in their minds) get .

stay in touch with byrons , the fuel is as i have always said , a great fuel and excellent for engine longevity
