Just got a report from my LHS owner who is running my motor for his touring class ( Reedy Quad Mag ).
He said that gearing like it was a stock motor in his XXX-S was bad, he actually went up 8 teeth ( 64 pitch pinions ) and then said it had the power.
He said that the Dynasty had more torque, but the motor was very fast and had good amount of torque.
He was running dynasty brushes. I am running 767s. Anyone trying to run a polarized setup? I am looking at doing 767s on the positive, 766s on the negative.
Also, are you noticing better power with trimmed down brushes? I got alittle burn on the trailing edge with the 767s.

I'm going to be trying a new combination. I'm going to put a Epic 19 turn arm in a Orion Revolution. I talked to Rick Howart on Orions board and he said both stock and 19 turn versions of the V2 motors are in the works so I figured I do one of my own and see how it works. I'm going to try it for practice on Saturday. I think if it's too fast in racing, some may complain because it's not a "spec mod" I'll let you know what I find out.

well at least I'm sticking to the local rules about not switching manufactures. I ordered a top 19t arm for my orion revolution can. just toss out that 10x1 and stick in the 19t top. I just wish I had some sprint brushes. what springs are you going to try? I bought all 4 versions but figured the med-hard would be a good place to start.

The springs are the ones that come with it. I think they're the med ones. I haven't really done much with this motor. It's and 11x2 off road motor that I've been running in my XXX4 during practice with enduros in it. The 11x2 has more power than you could use @ my local track anyway so I haven't really let the motor open up. I'm having a lot of trouble getting anything for these things. I love the feel and the maintenance of the motor but it's tough when there's no parts to support it out there yet. Everywhere I call for brushes they're out. I may have found one place that has some but getting them to ship them here is another story. I honestly think this is the direction motors are going now.

just got off the phone with a orion team driver
just a couple things on the orion v2 with a 19 turn. this applies only because it is relative to the springs and brushes. they were using hard springs with the 8 and 9 turn motors and still didn't have enough punch. I got a line on one pair of sprint brushes. stormer put my order on hold since they show having sprint brushes but can't find them. the medium springs come on the motor stock. I have a set of heavy and med heavy I'm going to try. the other thing I saw was to use the enduro brushes with high timing. it seams that the higher timing gives about the same power with sprint or enduro brushes but the sprint burns up the com more. The lower timing the sprints give more power. like I said though the biggest complaint was not enough punch from whatever the team drivers did to the motor. but that could be said for the Reedy quad too. the other thing was they only got 6 sets of sprint brushes each for the snowbirds. that's it! could of been worse at cleveland the 6 drivers got two touring motors and one 12th and had to give the 12th motor back. that included spashett.....

The demand is so high that they cannot keep anything for themselves because it will cause them to fall behind even further...But you only need 6 sets with this motor... thats the beauty of it. Maybe they wanted to make a statement that its all they need for the whole weekend of racing and practicing. We will see, any news on the 19T arm in the V2 can yet Jkerr? Let me know how it goes, i may have to try that.

I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the motors arrived in pieces so the hard working folks at Peak/Orion USA have to put them together themselves. They're working on getting them out and in your hands the best they can.

ESC setting for 19T
Hi,
I'm running a GT7 ESC in my car and use program 4 for my stock motors.
What setting would be "right" for 19T? (new class for us, starting this spring).
Regards
