What Would Happen If . . .
I would like to put 4 of the Pro-Line 1/5 Baja Bow-Tie rear tires (LINK) with Desperado wheels on my 1/8 buggy to create a super-bad monster buggy.
Is there any way I can get conversion hardware to go from 17mm to 23mm wheels?
It should look something like this when finished (image below).
I'm sure some gearing would need to be changed . . . if I can get this to work, it could be a cool project. I'm betting this has already been done before but I couldn't find any projects like this (1/8 using 1/5 wheels & tires).
Thanks

You are going to create a self destructing GOOFBALL RC.
Every part on that thing will be subjected to way too much stress from the weight and size of the rims and tires. Good luck to you.

LOL!
I am sure you are correct! Thanks for your comment.
It was a fun idea to explore but, as you say, I'm sure it's impractical for several reasons.
As it turned out, the order I placed for my 1/8 machine was on back order so I cancelled it and will probably be getting a Slash 4x4 instead.
Thanks again,
RS

First major problem you'll face is it cannot steer as the bigger wheel will rub against the chassis

proline makes the adapters and they space out the wheels away from the car

I remember I tried out my rulux halfups with stretched badlands on my buggy
The body wouldn't fit so I ran it without a body but yea it handled terribly
It would go pretty fast though going down the street due to the larger diameter tires

It'll widen the truck and at the same time preventing the tires rubbing against the shock spring during turns.
You didn't know please keep your mouth shut.

Those that uses the wider wheel/tire combo will use the hub extender, it comes in 6 to 16mm extension hub, Mugen and OFNA make them.
