used a variety here from novak, tekin, castle, and speed passion.
haven't found a truly "best" ESC etc. I would say determine the rules of your class, and find out what ESC offers the best features for that class.
example:
If you are running a 17.5 stock class with no timing limitations, you would want a Tekin timing advancing style ESC and not something like say the novak havoc 2S without timing advance features.
If running full mod like I do, I haven't found an need for the timing stuff.
one thing to consider though is that the ESC fits properly on the chassis. The Tekin's are nice and small, a plus for sure in a buggy.

I use a hobbywing xerun paired with a epic duo 2 13.5. Fast and smooth. Size is bigger than a tekin but the b4 has the space for it.

Speed passion GT 2.0 LPF loaded with the 528 stock software, with a BOSS 17.5 would be awesome for stock with no timing limitations. Or load the speedo with 508 no timing software for limited timing classes. I run a GT 2.0 with the 528 stock and a BOSS 13.5 on oval with my FT B4and can easily keep up with 7.5s. And to boot Nathan at BOSS is a GREAT guy to work with!
