Thats funny that you "shock" them at 6-7 amps. Shaun almost always charges his packs at 7.5!..I think I saw him crank them up to 8 once. But I guess when you're getting your stuff for dang near free you can do that...

It's not needed for club races..

Ask him who had the faster truck at the Reedy Race!

(The Reedy Truck Race was a handout stock motor class..and I got really lucky. I was the only stock truck to clear this really tricky triple-double section).

Aaron,

I'm always into trying new things. Back on the gearing topic...After a simple qualifier (not pushing the car too hard and such) how warm is your P2K2? Can you use the 3-5 second thumb test? Is it too hot to touch? Too cool? The 82-17 is nice, but again, I am into trying new things...I'm thinking I'll run the 18-86 for the club race tomorrow. Is it worth trying?

By the way, I put your entire setup into my truck just to see how much of a "ball-park" setup it is (well, I added green's up front). I wrote down my previous setup though so if I don't like it, I can go back.

Thanks!
-chris

If you're gonna try my setup..take those darn greens off the front!

My motors are usually pretty warm, but you can hold your thumb on them. If you have time to try it at a club race, go ahead and experiment with different gearing.

I didn't want to hijack the thread about truck engines, so here goes...Aaron, what engine are you running in truck now? Trinity keeps switching around, and I wasn't sure if you had any Picco stuff left or whatever. Just curious.

At a recent race I was at, the guys charging the batteries for the race director forgot to charge his batteries. So they hooked up two Turbo GFX's and charged at 18 amps!

I am VERY surprised it didn't go *poof*!

Dave - I am running leftover Trinity/Picco engines until I get my Sirio stuff.

Default Weekly Race Report

Aaron,

Alright, so I practiced with your standard setup (orange springs too) and came to the conclusion that you were correct...it is a very "ballpark" setup. The track still has too much bite and the tripple is just too big to run oranges up front. So as the world goes round so does my setup. Here's what I came up to this time.

Front: 32.5/57/2"silver...inside-inside shock location....2-B w/1.
Rear: 35/55/yellow...2 on tower, inside on arm...2-A...3degrees

I qualified 3rd but my beloved TEIKIN destroyed my race pack and so I didn't race the main Oh well, better luck next time. If anything, the setup is really coming along though, the truck feels very nice.

Thanks!
-chris

What kind of track surface is it?

You're running stock, right?
