I figured that I wasn't missing anything, I haven't seen any carpet tracks or even heard any carpet talk. I wonder if carpet racing is more of a cold weather thing.

Rumor has it that Charlie from the La Mirada race series is going to be putting on a carpet race soon. I'd love to get on carpet.

There used to be a carpet track in Temecula. But that went away about 2 years ago. I know Futureal is planning on a carpet track in the area after he can fund it mainly from the shop hes opening.

There's also a guy that opened a shop in Encinitas (I think its called Kingspeed Hobbies) and he claims he's going to open an indoor track in spring.

Carpet track would be great if it were located good and ran right. I think the timing would be good for now.

I think onroad racing is slowing declining myself. Turn outs at most onroad tracks are less this year then last yet offroad turnouts are huge. Whats going on???
Parking Lot Races that used to draw 150 plus entries now maybe get 60. Onroad Trophy Event turnouts cut in half both at parking lot and track facilities.
Could it be that because all we see in the magazines lately is off road?
I do not think carpet would work in SoCal. Three months out of the year? maybe, but thats it.
Hopefully it will bounce back next year, who knows????
my 2 cents

Only a Micro (1/18 & Mini Z) carpet track in So Cal that I know of.

I hope you guys are wrong about the participation, cause for me Hesperia and such are really far. I'm in North San Diego and the closest Onroad track is Socal and that's an Hour and a quarter. That's hard for practise, etc. For people that aren't that serious, that kind of driving is too much. I'm serious and I have a hard time. With that much time in the car, you can't get around a whole day commitment.
