Can someone please give me some advice on wheels for the Velox V8 '09? I bought a set of Enneti wheels/tyres for my Velox (which I have just built). They are Kyosho though fitment as I was told by rcdirect.co.uk that they will fit Shepherd and Mugen as well.

Unfortunately the rear wheels seem to have the wrong offsets, as the shock mounting ball on the rear suspension arm is almost touching the inside of the wheel. This is after I adjusted the rear uprights to be as far out as the driveshaft allows, and used the innermost shock ball mount!

Sheperd's online shop rccar24.de lists Enneti's with a photo of what appears to be Mugen 6 spoke wheels. So was I given some bad info by rcdirect? Can I fit the Mugen wheels without offset problems?

The Velox car kit is sold under 600001 and 600009 reference. Does anyone know the difference between the 2 kits?

That is normal. Don't worry about it. Everyone is using essentially the same offset now (+ or - 1 mm or two).

600009 is the 2009 version of the Velox

Both Mugen and Kyosho wheels will fit, the wheels to avoid are the Serpent offset wheels. If you use the carbon bracket on the rear lower wishbone you will find that the ball joints will rub slightly even with the shock mounted on the inside position. Are you raing the car in the UK?

Can someone explain the handling changes when changing position of the front eccentrics. Both wheelbase and up/down. I assume the wheelbase change changes the F/R weight bias, and the up/down change is a roll center change?

600001 was the "old" 2008 kit, 200009 is the new 2010.

Wheelbase speaks for itself, shorter will result in tighter cornering for short slow tracks. It makes the car a bit more tricky...
You will not notice a lot on up/down beside that you will be able to run smaller tires, the latter is the big win.

What do you mean by "old" 2008 kit? Does it come with the 09 chassis, the euro 2008 conversion kit and the LGC Rear Bulk Head?

So if it's the case the 600009 kit is coming with the new pouley set, and the upright L+R front and back and exentric?

Neil,

I had to remove the carbon bracket and bolt the ball joint on to where the carbon bracket was fixed. Now the ball joints are clear of the wheels. Only now I can't get the ride height down enough as the shocks/springs are too compressed even on the highest shock tower position!

I haven't raced before but would love to have a go, I'm in Woking, Surrey.

Also the Enetti kyosho-type wheels are not a tight fit on the hubs. I hate to think how much vibration this will cause at high speeds. Do the Mugen wheels fit any better than this?
