I'm not a big flight fan myself. I'm not too sure how far that drive is. I'm in San Diego. It's about a 1 1/2 drive for me to the track.

I think Mo and I will get in around 4pm. We are equally excited about this race. Can't wait to just put the car down and have some fun. Good luck to everyone and I'll see ya when I see ya!

Kind of sucked not be ing able to get on here for a full day. Oh well, gave me time to finsh getting the Reedy car ready. I decided to install a fan on the motor after talking to Sean Cochran last weekend about how much they really help when they're done right. Here's how set mine up. The wiring could have been neater I guess.

Does your fan spin when you power it up? Every time I mounted a fan that close to the can it wouldn't spin... I guess due to the magnetic force from the motor... anyway I always had to move them about a 1/4 inch away from the can to make them work. This was back in the day when we ran TC3's and I think the fan was positioned more between the can mags than your seems to be.... maybe that would make a difference

It didn't at first. I couldn't figure it out at first. It worked out of the car but not in it. Then I figured the motor was probably messing with it. I moved it back just a touch and it worked. I really didn't want to try and move the ESC forward any more because of the servo and ESC wires. I may still do it though just in case.

jon you might consider making a lexan mount for the fan extending out from the chassis with the fan pointed in an angle to the endbell! Something like a nerf wing! Also whats wrong with mounting it behind the motor towards the rear.

I thought about monting it angled like that. I think mounting it behind the motor, the wind coming under the car would try and blow the fan the wrong way and not let it work properly. This way it's using the incoming wind to aid it.

There isnt as much air moving thru the body as you think, atleast to impede the air volume from the fan. Take the fan of and mount it were you can blow against it. If it stops then you might have a problem. Those little fans are stronger then you think wired straight to the speedo like you have!
