I have looked at them both on the web. The tc4 ($150) looks stock and the tc6.1 ($250) looks like has every upgrade on it. The tc6.1 looks awesome, but is it worth the extra $100? Is there a big difference in driving them for a new tc driver? I will be racing on a concrete road course and practicing on an asphalt parking lot.

AE tc6.1, parts are durable, priced good, and most important it is available at pretty much any hobby shop in the u.s. so you don't have to waist a lot of money stocking up on parts...

Spec R seems to be a great car for the money also....

You know if you just want a solid tc basher to see if you like this type of racing, I got a tb-03 from speedtechrc.com. Added GQ foams, reventon S and 17.5 sportsman v3 used, and upgraded to aluminum shocks and kept everything else stock. Awesome, stable, quick and fun to drive. Less than $200 total.

If you're planning to hit around the 150 mark and get a TC4, do yourself a favour and get a Sakura Zero S instead. Belt layout, upgradable to the Zero. Plus, it's only around 110 bucks.

The track markings at club level are often brutal when they are hit and you will hit them when you start racing.

The Xray t4 will be with you soon, you should be able to get a good S/H t3 12 for the cost of a new RTR, because of Xrays durability it is aguably the best club car there there is. Get the best equipment you can afford, buying a RTR then upgrading or buying hop up parts is a money pit! (I have been there and done that)

But the tc 4 is a good car for vta only and I don't think the ESC and motor r vta legal . I would go space or top photon EX/ae 6.1.

If the parking lot is clean, then you can get a belt driven car to run on it, but if not then the shaft driven tc4 is the car to get.....

It's Vintage Trans Am . Old muscle car bodies, 25.5t motors with blinky esc, and special tires.... Also, I run a tc4 from 17.5t, 13.5t to mod without any performance issues at all... I never finish last, and I race against the new cars (t3, s411, tc6, etc...) With more experience I'll be sure to make the Amain....

The parking lot will be a few friends getting together at a school or neighborhood pool parking lot. Guess we could blow area off. What's the advantages/disadvantages of shaft driven vs belt?

Are there any parts needed to keep on hand for the tc4? Are they as durable as the tc6.1?
