greem machine 3 dyno results (good info)
i got my gm3 dynoed today on a turbo dyno here are the numbers:
constant 20 amps
run 1:
rpm:20640 Torque:9.3 Watt:142 Eff:104 volt:6.74
Run 2:
rpm:20916 Torque:10.3 Watt:159 Eff:118 Volt: 6.74
Run 3:
rpm:20831 torque:9.7 Watt:150 Eff:111 Volt:6.74
Run 4:
rpm:20901 torque:9.7 Watt:150 Eff:111 Volt:6.74
this motor has 2 full race days and 2 practice days on the com, i shouldve cut it but the guy at my lhs said it was fine. i used the stock springs and reedy 767 brushes(i also needed new brushes.)
just for comparasion here is a fantom mvp that needed its com cut.
Run 1
rpm:20681 torque:8.5 Watt:131 EFF:94 Volt:6.74
Run 2:
rpm:20954 torque:8.1 watt:126 Eff:93 Volt:6.74
Run 3:
Rpm: 20628 torque8.4 watt:126 Eff:90 Volt:6.74

My p2K: Max power- 131 watt
20-30 amp range- 112 watt
Torque at max power- 102Nmm
Torque total- 182Nmm
That is a robotronic, so you can't compare it to your CE results.

but are these numbers good for a gm3?

TypeS.....hate to burst the bubble here.....but there is no way in hell that you can get 150 watts out of a stock motor.....ANY stock motor for that matter. Better check your dyno and your arm.
Was the MVP tested on the same dyno?
And the efficiency over 100%? something is definitely wrong with your dyno.

Aloco, remember it is a CE dyno.

Kailboy-yes that is pretty good. Look at the 20 amp numbers. Anything over 100 is great...You could ask Big Jim for more info, i don't know much about the CE dyno.
#8
is big jim on this board? if so ill im him
#10
ill check the print outs again, but im pretty sure they are correct.
#11
im sure i just checked them twice. when i go to my lhs ill have him dyno it again.

CE dyno's take readings at six steps, either at amp steps or at torque steps, depending how you set it up. You could program it to just test at 20 amps if you want but I never heard of anyone doing this. In fact Big Jim uses a CE dyno (acording to his book) and he says 100-110 watts at 20 amps is about all you can expect and that was at 7.0 volts

Thanks guys. I was gonna ask Jim about it, but I'm having some troubles logging in.
