thanx guys..what do you mean by keep the weights low??is it odd to have a lot of weights?? cause usually i see pic of cars and it only have like 3 weights on it..while i think.(but now sure ) i need like 70 or 80g ? thats a lot...i balance my car through the hudy balancing tool and also with a string hang it up and check the balance .. it does balance but when i put the car on the setup board the rear right side is kinda heavy cause when i check the ride hieght that side is always off by .5mm to 1mm ...(considering the shocks lenght is the same and the droop.)

No, I ment low to the ground. As close to the ground as possible. If you were to put it on top of the topdeck or on top of the servo that would cause the center of gravity to be raised up higher than if the equivilent weight was placed low down on the main chassis plate.

The shorter Worlds Arms will help. Alumimum cvds will not last long in the front of this car. You will see them get bent very easily if you smack a few boards. My sugestion is to save the bones for the rear of the car so you can replace the rears when they wear out.

hey guys... i need some help about the gearing of this car... i tried a 104T Spur with a 23T pinion... Both are 64 pitch gears... it was recommended to me by a friend... but now... because of the motor mount slots, my motor pinion cant seem to mesh with the spur properly... as in, they hardly touch or mesh.. must i change my gearing or should i cut the slot larger? hope my explanation is understandable...

thanks in advance...

PS: mine is the Special edition...

That is a 9.04 FDR, Unless your running a 7 or 8 turn that is not a good combintion anyway. If you mean they will not touch and you have the motor all the way over, you need a bigger Spur gear. Go to a 110 or higher spur gear. Bigger is better anyway. To find FDR go to www.gearchart.com this will help you to select the right combination of pinion and spur for the right FDR. You need to find out first, what is the best FDR for the motor you are running, you don't say what motor you are using in your post.

Do not cut a slot, make sure you are using the two forward holes in the motor can as well. Your friend who gave you this tip is using a Yokomo BD as well?

thanks zach... i am using a novak 5800 brushless... its an 8-10 turn equivalent... so i'll just need another bigger spur? what is my car's internal ratio anyway? how do i calculate an FDR for touring sedans? oh yeah and my friend is driving the same thing... just not a special like mine... oh and i went to gearchart.com and it turns out, that my car is labelled as just the MR-4TC... so with my current setup, my FDR is 9.95... what is ideal for a touring sedan then?

Yes, you just need a larger spur and different pinion to achieve the correct FDR. Look again, 3rd choice from the bottom at gear chart.com, is the Yokomo MR-4 TC BD. Go with a Spur of at least 110 to 112.

You do have the newer BD? It is Black Graphite.

The older MR4-TC Special (also a belt drive) was a black carbon composite moulded tub or SSG Silver Graphite.

Sp1ke , there is no a certain FDR for a touring!!! It all depends on what motor do you run , batteries etc!!! For a brushless at a very small tight track about 10.00-10.50 would be ok , for a bigger track that is also used by 1/8 scale , like the one i race about 8.00-8.60 it would be perfect!!!
you must 'feel" the car

FDR= Spur gear/pinion gear x internal gear ( 2.00 for BD)

exactly... so mine is the older carbon composite... the internal is 2.2.. hahaha.. and yeah the track IS a tight one... so i guess going up a few spur sizes would be fine...

Oh man, Novak 5800 is no where near a 8-10T brushed motor, it's more like a 15-16T brushed. start with 7.0 FDR, keep an eye on the temp.

if this is right then you should really run with a FDR near 7.00!!!
