Default My Gearing?!?

Hi i have the standard Gearing on my MR4-TC which is 22T pinion and 78T Spur. Which i been told that for a 27 Turn stock a good starting point would be a 30T pinion and 75T Spur.

I will be using a Monster Horsepower Stock and im racing on quite a twisty track, with a couple of quite fast straights.

What do u reckon on this?

Thanks

30/75 seems real high for a monster. I set my monster up with a 7.5 final drive (tc3) and 30/75 in the yok would be a 5.5 I believe

Ok with my 22/78 my overal drive ratio is 7.8 and rollout is 22.56, is this overgeard or undergeard for a twisty track witha couple of quick straights.

I personally gear around 8.2-8.5, the monster makes a lot of revs so i gear very short and still have plenty of straight speed.

7.8 is probably about right or maybe a gear it an RCH lower. Mine is just a tiny bit too high right now.

It all depends on the track size as well

Around 7.5:1 is a safe starting point for most stocks on a tight track.
