the wires are easy to solder on, keeping them on in warm to hot weather is a different story all together, it happens way to easily.

Check that the red LED lights up inside when powered up - showing that the capacitors are connected. If not, take off the endbell and check the little copper connectios inside. This is more likely your problem

the light was on. i found out the problem. i slightly overtightened the cap screws that holds the endbell on and a deformed the ring that the endbell screws onto. i straightened it out again and the motor is fine.

Hello,

I recently purchased one of these V2 hoods and I'm not sure how to rebuild it.

Could someone either take pictures of how to rebuild it or explain what steps I need to take?

Thank you,

Rudy

Hey Rudy,

Curtis from DC did a write-up on this. Click on the link below, then click "V2 Spring & Brush Replacement"

hi, just get the marc reinhard 12x2 edition.... it is my first brushed mod (got 5.5r brushless) does anyone knows the web, springs and brush type it comes with? what would be the proper range for gearing (technical track), something between, 8.5 and 9? what would be a good start?

4mm web, Enduro brush, and for springs I would say the Revolution MR032 4.3 N/mm (8 coil) (ORI41383).

For gearing it really depends on the track size. A 8.5 would be good for a tight technincal short track. For a larger track you may want a 8.0 or lower.

Im in quite a dilema. I took apart my vantage to give the comm a cut, and when I removed the endbell, one of the copper looking pieces being the tubes where the brushes are inserted fell out. I took the board off of the endbell and tried to slide the copper looking piece back in, but it broke. Is there any way i can get a new piece or do i need a new motor? Or maybe can I just buy an endbell adaption kit?

Yeah those bits are available seperately. I have also just soldered a link accross when i've been desparate at the track. However, you have to be very careful doing this as you can end up with too much there and it'll hit the comm tabs!
