This is the first time I've ever heard of PP not paying in a situation like this. I'm curious what they told you their reason was for not paying you. There has to me more to it than just him not having money in his account.

Did you not accept the refund and that's why it was cancelled? Paypal will pay you out of pocket if the seller doesn't have any money.

I have to be honest. I also was taken advantage of again by TomTenRC. I’m really miffed because I gave him every chance to make this right.

I had posted in the WTB section and he messaged me several times saying he had a couple trucks (RC10GT2 and SC10GT parts lot). I unfortunately took the bait and after probably 30 text messages back and forth haggling we agreed to a price. The simple truth is that this guy just has one of the best collections I’ve ever heard about and he always seems to have what I’m looking for (typing that out now it sounds too good to be true it so it probably is).

About two to three days later when following up for tracking info, he gave me the same spiel someone above got - he’d changed his mind. I fucking lost it on him - was probably more aggressive than I should’ve been but in the midst of the conversation, got an alert that I had replies to this very thread. Long story short and several “I’ve changed my mind” and “I’ll ship your item I promise” statements, the last time I heard from him was Sunday night assuring me he’d ship on Monday and would throw in some extra parts for me putting up with him being an asshole. As of today, no relies to texts (I have his phone number and that’s how we conducted a majority of the deal), no replies to the multiple emails I’ve sent to his wife (he uses her PayPal account) so today I filed an IC3 report (supposedly goes to the FBI for cyber crime) and I’ve filed a claim with PayPal.

I’m glad he’s gone from this site, but I will be honest and say I’m thoroughly disappointed I won’t get the vehicles now despite all the BS and having bought hundreds of dollars in parts and engines to get them up and running. I simply can’t believe people like this exist.

Tl/Dr: I was taken advantage of for a second time by this same asshole. (First time was resolved and I eventually received what I paid for, but was tempted again and failed).

I’ve been out of the RC scene for a while. Made the mistake of not checking the beware of seller section before purchasing. I am just surprised all of this is just coming to light in the last few days. He’s ruined what’s he been building here and on ebay! He must be going through some serious drugs or mental problems!

Just an FYI, this person whomever he is must be going through some challenges.... He issued me a refund via my dispute with paypal, refund issued today and expected to clear by 3/18/20

Not sure what the problem is, why he is doing what he is doing. But I went an just bought a new truck last night and will be happy with that.... and replenish my funds when the paypal refund gets here

I wonder if he just needed money? Either way, you reap what you sow. Karma is a bitch.

What RCphreak said... 100% right! Many could have been spared the ordeals they went through.
