New CRC Gen Xi 12th car.....
#452
My Xi ready for the season opener on the 8th.
#458
The rear pods on all three cars (less the axle assemblies) and the front ends are basically the same and the carpet version of one X-10 uses the Xi's 1/12th scale kingpins and springs. Great having so many other interchangeable parts (shocks, side tubes, side links, hardware, etc.) between my CRC cars.
Just getting back into 1/12th myself; so, others should have comments about the Xi's performance.

I have two X-10 LE's and one Xi. Batteries and electronics are down the center as much as possible.

-Longer chassis (better for lipos since the cars are lighter)
-Battery can be run down the middle or in more horizontal positions
-New CRC shorty pack can be used
-Runs the servo flat by default (XL runs an angled servo which eliminates bump steer)
-Comes with new all plastic steering blocks and smaller diameter axles
-Chassis is slightly different in the battery area (slightly stiffer than XL)
-Has a hole drilled behind servo so you can run an extra long shock. (can improve steering)
Good car i would go with the Xi over the XL.

My original body on the Xi is getting a bit banged up so it was time to paint up another one. I couldn't come up with a paint scheme so I did something similar to the factory car:
Hopefully the new body won't slow the car down since I set fast lap of the evening and won both heats and the main last night.

I can't directly compare to other bodies since it's the only one I've had on the Xi but I have absolutely zero complaints. It seems to be very well balanced with plenty of steering and no tendency to lose the rear end. The recent fast lap for 13.5 blinky at the track is a 10.832 which I ran Friday night with 11.0x being a more normal fast lap. My favorite part about the car is that I can still click off 11.1x laps at the 7 minute mark...though not consistently yet.
