I'm using a 116 and there looks like room for maybe 118.

I've never used the BL mount myself. Just going on what the HB guys have said before about the BL mount and what the HPI site says. It may have something to do with the fact that the largest HB spur is only 110. Another brands 111, 112 or larger may be able to squeeze in there fine.

110-111 spur using the brushless motor mount. 112 sticks thru the bottom of the chassis sli

ghtly. You can go slightly larger but it will stick out of the bottom and the other thing to look for is the spur gear hitting the rear FRP/graphite plate.

My 107 sticks out the bottom on the stock mount. I'm pushing a 9.-- final drive using the 16 tooth pulleys.

It's not a significant amount sticking out, but if you roll something over the chassis cut out, the spur will move.

Just used a header card and no movement. Did you use something with a straight edge?

On the std motor mount, 108 is the absolute max and that's flush if not slightly out the bottom deck.

On the brushless motor mount, I you can get about 116 fitted, I run 115 and that's got enough clearance to be safe

WOW I've been using Xray and the purple HPI 116-64p spur gears for more the 3 years with the optional HB BL motor mount. I'm now using the lipo mount with the 2mm spacer that comes with it.

Yes I had to take a little off the RTP but the 116 will NOT stick out past the bottom of my 2 HB V1,V2 & 1 BMI chassis AT ALL.

I just picked up a Cyclone TC that I plan on running in my clubs 17.5 TC class. I have a Ballistic 17.5/Havoc Pro ESC and a SMC 4200 for power. The track is aprox. 60x36.

What would be a good starting point for FDR? The Ballistic specs call out a FDR of 4. But I think that will be too high for the size of our track.

What is the stock chassis thickness VS the exotek? My exotek chassis might be thinner.
