Vance: In stock you will make runtime with 3300 , 3600 or 3700. Runtime should never be an issue in stock. The IB3600 has real good voltage for the first part of the discharge curve so it makes it real good for stock.

Vance-I accidentally charged my 4-cell pack at 7 yesterday for modified. I usually charge at 5 for mod anything.

The car made 8-minutes (44 laps) though it was going soft at end-fastest lap up front 10.5, last three laps 11.0, 12.0 (probably tapped) 11.6. It was so insanely hard to drive up front due to the 7 amp charge I bet. It was also the second charge on pack in two hours time, 2nd run on motor and 5th or 6th on brushes.

So-go ahead and charge at 7 for stock-it will rip.

Vance-enjoy!

Danny-I charged the six cell pack at a more proper 5 amps yesterday for Modified Touring. 2nd charge of day on my X3 charger at 0.052 peak was 4076 Mah and 9.04 peak voltage!!! To say the least it ripped on the track.

I think that pack has minimum of 18 charges on it so far. For me Danny-I am running it-taking it out of car and letting it sit with whatever charge is in it. Then when Iwant to run it agin-discharging on my integy 20amp tray for 4 or 5 minutes then charging it right back-up. I like that the best so far.

I swear its getting faster and faster.

For all of you who think team drivers get the best are mostly wrong. We will only save cells a few weeks before a major race the rest of the time we sell everything we match up so our best cells are out there.
A friend of mine came up to me yesterday and asked if the SMC IB3600's he bought were any good... they were still in the package- 35amp package. They were like 1.175/1.176s and 370 runtime (might be wrong about runtime I couldn't believe the voltage!!). I was like, well, they're ok, not that great. I'll buy them from you for practice packs if you want to get some GPs to race with....LMAO!!

No seriously, I told him they were great- don't waste them on practice

Hi,

I am afraid not. NO real focus lately-just been running a little mod-trying this car and that. Good luck to you if you go!!

I just got a new pack of Ib3600's mathced at 35 amps. They are 1.167-1.168's at 390 sec's. When I cycle then on my GFX they come up way short on runtime: 290 seconds at 35 amps.

Never had a pack of SMC's cycle this far from what their labels state. I charged them as SMC recommended on their website. Anyone else experience this with their IB cells?

I have cycled them three times letting them rest 1 day in between cycles and they always discharge at 290 sec's.

i have 3 unmatched IB packs... and runtime on different cells varies from 240 to 390 secs @30 amps...

is there something wrong with IB cells or what?

Exe...

You bought cells from a basically unknown manufacturer, unmatched, virgin (never cycled, never zapped) cells and complain they vary from cell to cell?

Let me guess they were a good deal right?

Personally, I am happier than a pig in sh... with my IB cells, they were unmatched etc, but for the price I am not complaining. I am new to the hobby, and don't have a $600 charger to sit and test cells on, I need to spend the time driving, and these cells have given me that, with decent performance to boot, at least at the club level.

The cheapest matched pack of any cells is more than double (at my lhs) what I paid for the IB's (even after adding bars, deans, and my time to assemble)

When I feel I can take advantage of that extra little bit a matched pack can give me, maybe then I will consider spending the money.
