Do any of you know where I could get a replacement aluminum chassis and a long stiffener for my Evo2, or know of any good custom machine shops that could do it?

Hi guys

I bought those cars in a big lot with some A800.
Not sure I gonna keep it, but before solding it I need some help to understand which version is it.
it seems that this is an A700 evo 2 + an FFG kit + an unknown almost new chassis + on motor bulkhead which probably go with the chassis.

I don't really know thoose cars but I want to rebuild them the good way before before puting it on a shelf
Any help will be aprrecied !

thanks guys !

the FFG kit

some parts that I don't know if :

What you have is an Evo (that’s the big spare chassis) that has been converted into an EVO 2. The other piece is the old motor mount from the EVO. The main difference between the EVO and the EVO 2 was the narrow chassis and new motor mount.

Evo 2 also had rebuildable dampers Evo 1 had the older sealed dampers.

thank you very much guys for thoose information
one more thing :
- the car do already come with the FFG kit mounted + the spare one
- I do have the rebuidable damper
so a standard A700 evo can come with a ffg and rebuildable shocks or do I have a "cross part" car like awesomatix use to do when they include new parts without renaming the car ?

I also don't have any top deck... so evo 1 or evo 2, maybe it's an evo 1.5 :-)

Awesomatix has made a few running changes but not many. Like the early Evo 2 has D2.0 dampers while the later versions had D2.1.

A lot of the newer changes can be retro fitted to the A700, for example my A700 Evo 2 has the IFJ/IRJ joints and D2.2 Dampers fitted now as well as the +1.5 arms.

Yes, AMX build quality is second to none. I still run a 700L and a evo ll weekly and they never break and never seem to fall off the pace with the newer cars.

I once was denounced here for saying that this car is likened to a horological piece because of it's intricacy and build quality and precision.

i owned the A700, the first one. It was a horological piece, indeed because of manufacturing quality, but also because it was better on the shelf! I was never able to run it properly on low grip asphalt. The roll center were way to high...

If you mean the AM10-1 Steering Plate:
AM10-1 Steering Plate ? AWESOMATIX

Or later version AM10-2 which was more strong:
AM10-2 Steering Plate ? AWESOMATIX
