New guy be nice
Looking at picking up an rb6. Don't feel like reading all 2700 pages. What are the key things I'm gonna need to do or need to beef up on the car. Thanks.

Getting a new RB6. Been reading through the threads. It would be awesome to have a "sticky" at the beginning of this thread for some of the FAQ's.
Setup tips
Any parts that we should keep a spare on hand for?
etc.,.
Now....anything you would replace at the beginning after having the buggy for a while?
Also, trying to decide between rear motor and mid motor configuration. Track conditions.....well, when its wet it has traction and when its not it is loose!

1) exotek steering rack. Since everyone thinks they can break it. I haven't, and have 2 plastic racks and 1 alu rack sitting there looking dumb.
2) Rear hubs. They made these thicker with the RB6. Dont know if they still break.
3) If you get aluminium rear suspension hangers, get the white delrin ball ends.
4) I think most people are still using the default wide hangers. I use the narrower hangers - more rear grip out of corners.
5) If you put in the exotek alu rack you may end up breaking the steering arms instead. Exotek sell these in alu too. That means you'll be breaking something further up the chain, like your servo...
As for mid/rear motor, there's really only 3 times you'd go mid.
1) you're on astro or carpet
2) your clay track has super high traction
3) you're on outdoor loose dirt, have a 17.5 and are nuts.

only if you don't know how to setup the car . my car works great in all conditions . here is my car on a low to med grip indoor clay track . my car is TQ in MM in the second spot is another RB6 in RM and in the fifth spot is an RB6 in MM as well the rest of the cars are AE and one TLR 22 in seventh spot . since i switched to MM the car has only gotten better. everyone has their own preference . good luck in however you decide to go .

Mid motor generates less forward/on-throttle traction. So if you are in a super high traction environment where wheel spin can't be an issues, like a carpet or turf track, MM will dominate. If on a dirt or clay track that has lower levels of traction (compared to carpet), RM will produce faster lap times.

Raced my RB6 last night for first time after only running it 3 8min runs
Awsome car I finished 2nd overall, but a team Kyosho driver at my track set my car up before the main that thing was on rails, track was really ruff and it didn't get out of control one bit.
RF2 the thicker one
Rear Hinge pin holder from RB5 parts tree
No Shim under rear hinge pin holder
Ride height 24mm
0 deg toe
