Default Diff spring.

Has anyone else had a problem with the diff spring being bent slightly? that was my problem with the diffs, not the thickness of the gear, a few others i have talked to at SoCal had the same problem.

Andy M - I had the same problem with my TC4 steering rack, and I chose to countersink the hole in the chassis that allows for servo-saver adjustment.

Charlie - yes the springs in my kit were bent, one of them to the point that it would not fit in the outdrive.

The diff gears also appear to be too wide.

Andy M - I had the same problem, but I am hesitant to put any shims under the rack because I don't want to mess with the steering geometry without knowing what I'm doing. I guess I'll just have to run the servo saver tight and hope that my servo survives.

Does anyone else get the feeling that this kit might have been a little rushed? I know it sounds strange coming from AE, but the quality control just doesn't seem to be there.

weni had the tc3 (i know it aint a tc4 but ahhj well) i just took the spring out of the steering rack and tightened it down and then fitted a proper servo saver to the servo its self...i know a lot of others did this to but its better than the built in ones

IMHO...I think people have been spoiled by the quality of the XRay kits. The bar has been raised.

The main driveshaft? Yes. The front and rear input shafts are the same also, as far as I know.

I've never had an Xray, so I can't compare.

Go to AE's site and see if the part numbers are different.

The drive shafts are the same length, but I think the pins are different sizes, so a TC3 shaft might not fit correctly in the TC4 drive cups.

The driveshaft on the TC4 is different than the TC3, so the part numbers will be different. The TC3 shaft should still fit, unless the ends are too large to fit into the new beefier drive cups.

TC3~TC4 same drive shaft lenght.. but in order to use the TC3 shaft you need to use the input cups from the TC3 also.. the TC4 ones will not work

Default problem with steering

I have just about finished building my TC4 with only a few minor problems. 1 bent hinge pin and 1 screw with a messed up head.
By the way thanks for all of the tips, especially the NTC3 front bumper mod.
My question is, does anybody notice that the front knuckles seem a little bit tight in the c-hubs compared to the tc3. Seems to be binding very slightly. Will this loosen up over time? I will be using a fet servo so steering shouldn't be a problem, but just thought I would ask.
Do some people shave the top and bottom of the knuckle were the screw and ballstud go in?
Thanks in advance.
Can't wait to finish car so i can drive it. Just have to be careful as spare arms are not in my hobby store yet.

Don't worry about things being tight after a couple runs everything loosens up. Mine was relatively tight, but after bumping the pipes a couple times my suspension arms are very sloppy. I need to get some caster blocks so I can get my setup closer. My car would oversteer on power when I would exit the corners any tips?
