Close, you will never get a straight answer out of Reedy or Trinity on there brush compounds, but the 767's & 4499's are between 10-15% silver.

I was told this weekend to run putnham green on positive and 4499 on negitive of P2K2. Jim Deiter of Trinity passed that one on. I have had good luck with Fantom 315's w/red on both in a fantom GM3. Also putnham green + w/red spring and putnham blue w/green spring. Like the 767/766 combo too.

is the 766 a 6% silver brush w/ a polish in it?

766 is a completly different compound, I don't know the siver content. It is the same compound as the 729 mod brush so I would think it is lower on silver. From what I understand the 766 & 729 are made buy some other company then the traditional keystone that makes 90% of the brushes. I have not used the 766's but I have really liked the 729's in mod motors.

766 & 729 are the Quaser brushes. Compund is different than 767. I normally use 767 or 769 (767 w/cavity). FYI Big Jim says 767 is a better brush than the 4499.

766 is the "actron" brush not quasar

one thing nice about the 766 is that you can run it for as many as 12 cuts on the motor and the brush is just fine. it has like a polish in the compound and it seems to keep inself clean. when i ran them jenky mvp hand outs, the stock brush (766) worked just fine after u re-trued the comm (all mine came tapered) and broke the motor in for 3 min, skim the comm, 3 min, skim the comm about 5 times and then motor took about 2 packs to really go. then all i had to do was skim the comm every run. brushes stayed clean.

I would bet that because one is a laydown and one is an upright that they needed to be able to distinguish which brush is which, so you have the 2 different names.
I believe both brushes are from Japan but I could be wrong. Which would explain why there are no serrations on them. If the brush was made at Keystone then there would be no reason why not to use the mold that puts the serrations in the brush. Just my $.02

Shrekair go to big jims site and you can get a 12 pairs for 30 bucks! Which is good for reddy 766 or he has 767 adn can cut them down for you for a mvp. I used to trinity brushes and nothing else, never ran orion or peak. Also a great brush to get is a 12% silver full face brush from www.axiommotors.com <-- these are far the best
