Toro 1900kv 6-pole motor
Who has tried one of these in a Truggy? How did it do? I just assembled a Tekno ET48 and I need something lower in kv than the 2200 that's in it now. I don't need sensored but in the future if I ever put an rx8 in it it would be nice to have it there. It's just under half price of a tekin 1700 truggy motor and I'd like to save a buck or two if possible.

If you choose a 6 pole motor why not choose Tenshock. They are the 1st one who make 6 pole motor, very professional.

I've heard good things about the TenShock motors. But a 2400kv is going the wrong way for me. I need 1900 or even a 1700.

i would not run the buggy motor in a truggy. i couldn't keep the buggy motor cool in a buggy. if you're set on a 6 pole, go for the x802L, which has a longer can (more torque for the heavier truggy).

Not dead set on a 6-pole but it seems like a stronger option. Chances are I'll end up with a Tekin 1700 truggy motor. I can get a Poseidon 1700kv motor but its 106mm long and would require me to relocate the esc not to mention I just don't trust two little 3mm screws holding all that motor in place considering the flat landings that happen when you overshoot a landing ramp.

if you have the money for the tekin truggy motor, go with that. if you want to save a few bucks, go with the hobbywing 4274 1800kv motor. both are plug and play and will serve you well. why roll the dice with the 6-pole thing? again, i speak from experience. i've tried 2 tenshock 6-poles in 1/8 buggy and i couldn't keep them cool (burned one up). putting one in a truggy (even though i know the tekno truggy is lighter than most truggies), is just asking for issues.
the problem is the tenshock rotors just aren't big enough. yeah, we've all heard that more poles=more torque, and maybe for equal rotor size, that's true, but the tenshock rotors are much smaller (diameter wise) than the tekin or hobbywing motors so torque is down which makes them run hotter for the same speed as the tekin/hobbywings.

No. Tenshock rotor is nearly to 21mm. it should be bigger than Tekin/hobbywing. Tekin i remember is about 18.5mm. Just measured my rotor 35mm in length(it is my X802V2.If take X802LV2 should be longer that this).Tekin is 30mm.That means Tenshock has more power than tekin.
I think the reason why you get hot is the power is too big, the tires have not enough grip.This gets much hot.Maybe you should change the set of pinions, adjust the shock and tires.

A friend of mine runs a tenshock in his truggy, no issues, no overheating.
