What bodies are best suited for the handling characteristics of the RDX? Guys at the track this weekend said the car looked REALLY good out there with the Stratus 3.0-All purpose body. I tend to like aggressive handling so I'm thinking of putting on a Parma Alfa or Rayspeed Accord that I have. I got a Mazda 6 too but been reading how these don't fit too well. I can't think of too many others to try. What can you recommend? BTW, outdoor asphalt-med. to high grip track... -JB

I've used Mazda 6 bodies since I first got an RDX and is very happy with it.

Depends what you are racing.........

For carpet foam tire I would recommend the Parma Alfa or the Protoform Alfa. I have never run the Protoform Stratus 3.0 (carpet version) but it seems like it would work good.

For asphalt I would recommend the Mazda 6, the Stratus 2.0 and maybe the 3.0 all purpose. Again, I haven't run any 3.0 bodies. I wouldn't recommend the Alfa as that is ANYTHING but aggressive. You could also look at the Tamiya Subaru body, the Yokomo Stratus Type E. They are pretty good as well.

Yeah I got a couple of Stratus E's too...so the Parma Alfa isn't aggressive? Okay. I am racing w/rubbers outdoors.
danjoy- Are your rear bodyposts sticking up through the Mazda's wing?

Yeah, Yokomo E is pretty good actually. Mucho steering!!!! The parma alfa was specifically designed with Foam tire carpet racing in mind on ultra high traction surfaces. It doesn't have a whole lot of downforce, but it;s neutral at the same time. It takes the twitchiness out of the car and makes it easier to drive on the super high traction stuff. On asphalt.... I wouldnt; even bother trying it. Just stick with the mainline Mazda 6, Stratus 3.0, and the other bodies you see being run at worlds or the reedy race.

Does anyone have a pictures or ideas on how to mount one or two motor fans on the corally?? I need to do something to cool my motor down it was running real hot this past weekend....

Hi, I am building a 2nd RDX for my go faster son.

On Page 7 for the front bulkhead, does everybody fit the toe in spacers ? This is for Step1 of bag 3 ?

for the front toe-in spacers, use even amounts so there is no toe on the arm. It is easier to use the steering link to adjust the toe. Also, with the the toe spacers on the arm, i use enough to spacers to change the width of the car to 190mm, i don't know if you wanna get that involved, but wider is better

My front end is bottoming out in the turns and the front tire rims are cutting into the front arms.
Here is my current setup from our state race this past weekend.
40wt oil on all 4 shocks
Standard pistons
19lbs springs rear and 24lbs front.
Shocks are mount on the 3rd hole going inward.
Shocks were rebuilt two weeks prior with no rebound.
I race on mostly flat smoothed asphault with C27 rubber tires.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might try standing up your shocks more if your in the hole I'm thinking. It just sounds to me like the front end of your car is dumping over. Also try running a bit thicker oil in the front as well. I usually have a 20wt split between the front and rear. (Ex: 60/40, 50/30). I would switch to the 1.3mm pistons as well, it wont really help the bottoming out issue, but it makes the car feel a ton better. Also what roll center(arm mount) setting are you using? Where are your front camber links?

which hardness of suspension arms are you running? I used to have that problem but I am not sure how I got rid of it.

I ran 50/40 with 1.3mm pistons and didn't have a problem and 17lb/14.5lb springs. Ben Griffin ran 35wt all around with 1.3mm pistons as well.

I'll talk with Rob and see if he knows anything about it.

Ok, sorry to bother you guys, but, I'm thinkin about getting the RDX, is it durable and a good asphault car? I've heard that the car is very brittle. Please pm me back on you input thank you!

Really? I thinkt he car is pretty solid. It works great on rubber tires too, very neutral and balanced. Has alot of hop ups that most cars dotn normally have right off the bat as well.

Jeff- I actutally never thought abotut he suspension arms..... I've only run 75% arms.
