It'll run pretty much whatever fuel your hobby shop sells. I've run several, but currently am using Odonnells.

Check eBay for trans - should be able to find them new as a complete unit, pulled from a new kit or maybe some individual trans parts. Prices will be a lot less on eBay than anywhere else.

I'm guessing you bought it used so if you already have it then just check it off the list.... the R/C starter check list

1. FUEL 20% or 30%.... your choice
2. Fuel filling bottle
3. tool box or a fishing bait box........ for storing tools and parts
4. tools.... hex drivers, nut drivers, glow plug wrench/4 way wrench, turnbuckle wrench or small crescent wrench or a small open end wrench (not sure what size turnbuckle is on the T-Maxx) , needle nose pliers, channel locks, - and + head screwdrivers. Your a mechanic so you should have most of these tools around the house. Dynamite makes a decent hex and nut driver set in a nice little case for under $20 but I think you will still need a 5mm or 6mm Allan
5. extra glow plugs
6. A 5cell rechargeable receiver hump pack.
7. 6cell sub-c battery pack for the starting wand thing
8. rechargeable AA's for the controler
9. A decent battery charger....doesn't have to be the top of the line preferably AC/DC so you can charge batteries at home or off the 12volt battery on your full size vehicle
10. temp gauge/temp gun
11. extra parts and bearings

not sure if I'm missing anything but this should be a step in the right direction

I would stick with 20% nitro. I don't know if the 3.3 has been shimmed properly to run the 30%. Besides, if you just bashing around 20% is plenty. Just make sure you buy a decent fuel and not some garbage like traxxas fuel or something of that nature. Also make sure it has a high oil content.

the traxxas cvd's are good. thats what im going to go with. you can get the trans out of the 3.3 model so it will handle the power from the 3.3.

im selling 2 different 5 cell 1600mah battery packs. one is a venom, the other is a reedy. they will make a big difference for your servo's! more power, longer lasting and you can charge them when they get weak instead of replacing 4-aa batteries all the time. let me know if your interested.
