Stock TC5 comes with the standard (softer) arms right now. I would think they'd put the hard arms with the stock kit , and soft with the new R for grip, but haven't read which they are doing. The stock chassis does real well on asphalt too, and doesn't suffer near the tweak issues from what I've read. The softer arms give you more traction while you loose a small amount of "predictability". I'd personally recommend the stock kit, with ITF top deck mounted with 4 rear orings to dampen it a bit.
I'd like to see what some of the factory guys would recommend in that situation.

Do you have gearing info for the different motors such as a NOVAK 10.5?

yea thats 64 pitch. you have to run a crazy tall gear for the 17.5's. with the brushed motor im at 116/35 but the 17.5 is a totaly diffrent animal. 90/50 was the best trade of gear/motor temp. it really wants more gear (bigger pinion) but the motor gets too hot. start at 90/50 and go from there
