Default Best Novarossi replacement egine for Losi 8ight T

After running this Novarossi i put in my XXL today (just a break in) i noticed the quality is just second to none, the temps are so consistent and it's just a far superior engine, i am no longer going to run stock engines in my RC's so im looking for a good Novarossi to replace my stock 454 in my 8ight T.. I think placing another .28 in my 8ight T would be a little ridiculous, what are my options with the Novarossi engines and what has worked well for you?

I wasn't sure where to post this so i posted it here.

The P5, by Novarossi, is a nice truggy engine using the correct pipe. Price is good, too.

Maxy's Cinco BT. Pair it with a 2096 pipe and 41021 header. You will not regret it. http://www.vpprousa.com/engines.html...category_id=85

There is a local kid here that races for Losi and he mentioned the .25? Said thats what he runs. Would that restrict me to a class? I didn't get to ask him all the questions i wanted to ask as i started thinking more after we got off the phone. There is a new track opening next month and i want to start racing there.

Damn, $230 aint bad for that p5, will it push the 8ight T around good and still have enough low end?? Sorry if that sounds noobish, im new to RC's in general, especially racing.

The .25 he was talking about is Novarossi's Roma and that is one beast of an engine but its not cheap. I paid $610 roughly for on modded by CRE and with a ceramic rear bearing installed and had them do their break in service. Some places will restrict you on classes if you don't run a .21 I would check with your local track first.

Thanks man, he said he will be racing the new track with that engine but i will call and make sure before ordering. Do you think a bone stock p5 or Roma would keep up if some of the guys are running modded? I know being a good wheeler makes a big difference but..

Also, if i buy say a Roma or even a P5, break it in and get to the track and notice several of the faster guys are running modded engines, can i still have it modded after break in?

NOPE!!

Yes but why? If you are set on a modded engine. Save some money in the long run and purchase a modded mil up front. The P5 will hang with the best of them and smoke others on the smaller to medium tracks and even larger tracks with the right pipe/header combo. CRE and HES are probably your best choices of modded nova P5's. good luck and hope this helps

I can sell you a almost brand-new KEEP-OFF7XLS full ceramic murnan modified motors. I can do $350 on it plus shipping. you can ask any pro guy in there on how are the BONITO or KEEPOFF 7port run on a truggy. 10mins pit time no problem! =)
