What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 17 Step M-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 14 Step K-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all of our vehicles can be found here.

A few weeks ago we had a 6 hour enduro race. My buggy still feels like new. Very easy to drive. I put on Joe's setup and it's dialed.

Can anyone who came from other cars give there comparison to the cars they left. I've had or driven the d815, rc8b3 and the mugen mbx7r over the last season. Never got a chance to drive a Tekno.

I drove Mugen for years. I switched to Tekno last season. The first thing you will notice. Building the car was a breeze. Then you get to put it on the track.
Wow, you will say it turns, then you will say Man this thing is fast in the corners and I can push this thing. The 2 best things you will find is durability and Support from Tekno. I don't care what car you buy. If you don't have the manufacturers support then it's worthless. Tekno has so much information out there. Everything that you see posted by other Tekno drivers are so very true.
No joke. Become a believer. Buy one.

You've got that right. The other thing that I really like is honestly, and I'm not 100% sure why, the community is much more tight. Go into other threads in the forums here and elsewhere and it's full of bickering, arguing, bashing each other, making things personal. Watch all the tekno threads and that very rarely if ever comes up. Again, no idea why, just a very should I say... different... observation.

shark2288, also see if there is a local driver that might let you take a lap in his/her vehicle also. Very rarely do I hear anyone that has tried tekno being disappointed.

Default Universals

For those that have universals, do you have to stiffen your shocks (oil and spring)? Any thoughts on running universals in front only?

Just run them with your current setup.

Initial feedback in the team area has been to go up possibly .1 on the swaybars and tune from there. I haven't had a chance to personally test yet, hopefully in the next week to two if we can avoid rain for a few days.

Putting car together.... Went to measure droop and noticed the knuckle rubs against the top of the lower arm. Do I have something wrong or does it just need time to break in??

That's normal. Just limit the droop by 1 or 2mm and they will clear.

Normal at full droop... It's actually the screw that rubs the arm, what I did is turn the screw around (screw head under knuckle and locknut on top). Works great!

I had the exact same problem, like the boys have said, remove some droop and she will be all good.

Tekno put my original buggy together and this is the way they did it. Used buggy for over a year with zero A arm rubbing.

It starts from the top. From the owner to the drivers.
