I have the Max Power engine in both 10th and 8th scale, the 21 size Max Power (Novamax), I can probably say it is one of the best engine out there at least the one I have! hehe

now just to give you some comparison, the Novamax powerband is different from RB, JP. Kind of in between the both. RB C5 Rody or Collari more like a On/Off switch, in sane bottomend, and as for the JP R1 Kangaroo it has insane top end, it just rev like there is no tomorrow but sort of lack of bottom end punch and that can be solved by lower gearing, later clutch engagement or even smaller size tires.

But overall, the Novamax is an excellent engine for all around, and honestly if I come across another Max, I would get it again in a heart beat!

Default novamax

I'll second that, after they loosen up they're a great motor. Have run Murnan's R1WC and has incredible top end power RPMs like no other.

NovaMax is great! I ran one at WinterNats for 4 mains and the damn thing as fast for all 4 of them. Same engine in all 4 half hour mains. I love it

I got my MRX4 and all the gear locally. Your looking around aud$950 to $990 for the kit and anywhere from aud$800 to $1000 for the motor. You might want to try places like www.radiomodels.com.au or www.onlinehobbies.com.au for the gear, it will be a bit cheaper and you still keep your money in Oz as opposed to buying OS. Although been the holiday season i dont know if they are trading. Also you are looking at around $90 for a set of tyres but i have found they seem to last almost twice as long as on my MTX3.

I have to say if you want to fork out the initital start up cost for an 1:8 car i have found it to be very much worth it. I have only been running my MRX4 for a short while after racing nitro tourers for the last year or so and you simply cant compare it. The speed is awesome, the car is so much more rewarding and i think fun to drive, the sound is unreal and i think the whole car just feels so much more purposeful and tougher than than the 1:10 cars. 1:8 scale racer numbers seem to be dwindling a bit at the moment here in Australia, i think the more people who get into 1:8 the better!
