my 2 cents

i saw 4 to 5 great racers have issues with their novas at the Cap Classic this year. something isnt quite right with them, carb issues, tune issues, you name it, and it wasnt near as hot as the weather we had the year before.

if its your first nitro i would get a Picco. great power, easy tune, better price!!!

Get a OS XZ stock. You wont spend much, tuning will be a breeze and reliability is high.

No, vorra is not racing this weekend. Our next race is next weekend.

Also, I second the recommendation for either a red dot or os xz. Either one would be a good choice in my opinion.

I'm not sure. I know the pipe that everyone had for the TZ was the os 1040. There may be a better pipe out there but usually, for an os motor, the os pipe is the best bet. Here's a link to the pipe: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKBH6&P=Z

Now that I look at it, that link I put really looks like an off-road manifold. I don't see a link for the set with an on-road manifold. Well, if you want the 1040 set and you're going to order from Towerhobbies, i'd suggest to call to make sure you're getting the right set for your car. Make sure you tell them you are running on-road.

people that have Nova 'issues' are usually using nova plugs, they suck.

Use Nova gold plugs or grp or RB

ONLY hobby shop in Richmond is Hobbytown USA on Broad St. If you're not looking for Traxxas or Associated parts, you'll be out of luck. We've lost 2 hobby shops around here in the past 2 years. Sucks.

Oh, and +1 for nova gold plugs. Very nice!

Thats an EVO3, an EVO4 is already out. I dunno how is your budget or your racing experience. So I am just comenting on that.

Also, it probably comes with a 2607 or 2617 pipeset, a new pipe 2651 has been developed with better results.

Aside from all that, the price is good considering it comes with pipe+header.

Thanks.. im super new to nitro.. never competed in a race ever.. so i wanted to get into it with a quailty engine.. and something i could also learn how to tune..

once i get the settle nuance's of the sport down, i was planning on upgrading to a slightly better motor and pipe, and use 1 for a backup..

I just wouldnt recommend a picco engine for a new person. I would stick to OS or Novarossi.

The JP first line is a great engine to start with.

OS XZ stock can also be a very good option.
