I am looking to get into the 1/8 Buggy world I want a buggy that's rtr and I want to be competitive at the local track. what do you guys think would be the best one to get. I have heard that the rc8 is more consistent but the Losi seems to be more popular defiantly at my local track so i would like to be different but I would also like to win!!!

So if I could get some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

p.s. I am leaning more toward the associated due to cost but Im thinking that after getting all the stuff required to run it will be about the same.

My preference is the 8ight even with the cost difference.

It is the closest thing to a RTR race car out there, comes with a proper starter system, excellent radio, and proven chassis...

The RC8 is also great, but in RTR trim is missing quite a bit (IMO). I love the rc8b (and have two), but the race version is night and day from the RTR version. Associated needs to update the RTR version before I'd recommend it (again, IMO)...

You will LOVE the 1/8th scalers....

And since I own both I can also give you an unbiased opinion LOL...

i have owned race rollers of both, really liked both also. if i was going rtr i would only consider the losi, because of the radio and bump box.

I don't have either so i can give you an unbiased opinion . I would get the losi because it comes with a much better radio and starter box . IMO it is def . worth the extra money . If it is more common at your local track you will get much needed help on setup and if you break something someone will most likely have the part to get you going . Good luck in your decision .

as far as the box I thought that not having the box would be more convenient, but I defiantly like the on board temp gauge on losi

Actually the box is way better . It is more reliable and will outlast roto start / pull start . (can't remember which the rc8 comes with ) Carrying the box may seem inconvenient but if you ever have the pull start break on race day , your day is over .

A thing that should be taken into consideration is that the RC8RS has a .28 motor in it. This is no goot for some club events. Plus the roto start system leads to problems. So to save yourself buying a .21 to race sportsman buggy i would go with the losi. that way you will get a good starter .21 motor and a starter box. saves alot of trouble.

Nitro fuel- what you can get locally and is suggested by people at your track
Fuel bottle- cheap ofna bottle(should be 500cc+?)
Starter box batteries- if it will fit? $20 gel cell or 4s lipo from hobbypartz.
Gonna need a charger for the starter box battery- thunder ac6 also from hobbypartz

couldnt find how it would be cheaper.

also thing I may hold off on the box battery since I can use someone else at track. but fuel bottle will a 300 cc not be good??

Nothing wrong with a 300cc, but you will eventually buy the 500cc just because it is easier. Might as well start with it!
