Default Xray FK04 Battery Question

Does anyone know if you can fit 3600-3800Mah cells in the FK04?

You can get the 3800's to fit, you just have to file the slots down a bit. Also, you have to grind down the rear bulkheads just past the battery straps. on the bulkhead there are little pilot holes..this is where you grind at. Enjoy--Al

you don't need to grind down the bulkheads, however if you do want to use them you'll have to grind the battery slots. I reccomend (a la mark smyka) a 1" sanding drum kit, which can be found at the home depot. Chuck it into a cordless drill and just slide it in the slots. Perfect bevels in like 2min for the whole chassis. For my 04, I used a spindle sander with the same bits to do the standoffs so you didn't have to tighten/loosen them from the underside of the car for the bigger cells. Also, remove the foam from the straps.

I am running IB4200's with an extra layer of shrink wrap in my BMI FK04 Chassis. I relieved the battery posts just a little top to bottom, put a bevel in the posts to make slipping the batteries in a bit easier.

I will from now on use the IB4200s without the extra shrink wrap though!!!
