I do have a shim between the hex nut and the tire and I am using Pro4 hex nuts (but I dont think that should make a diff).
I had exactly the same problem. I bought unmounted CS27's and mounted them on SpeedMind wheels and everything was fine. I bet you could mount them on Corally wheels and be fine as well. It's not an issue with EPA, the inside of the arm rubs on the inside of the wheel with very little steering throw.

I'm not sure if Corally International reads this thread or not, so maybe one of you guys that talk to them can pass this along if you think it's worthy.

I believe the front bulkheads might be unnecessarily weak. Our track (pictured here) has two sides that are walls, and extremely unforgiving. It's rare that I hit a wall, but we had a layout recently that had a particularly tight section that would bounce you into the wall (with the side of your car) if you cut it too tight.

I managed to bend two front bulkheads over the course of 3 months, and I've bent others in the past. The odd thing is, the impacts that bend them have never broken an arm or hingepin, which you'd expect to be more fragile.

Normally, a slight bend might be okay since you could put in a shim or something and just live with it. Unfortunately, with the RDX, a slight bend stretches out the screw holes, so nothing will thread into the bulkhead anymore, and it's nearly impossible to get the bearing holders back in once you take them out.

I've gotten a lot better at driving in the last year, and I have plenty of races where I don't touch a board or the wall, and actually rarely break anything these days. I'm not a hack or a reckless driver or anything, for what it's worth.

So, since the spirit of the RDX is to improve rather than reinvent, I thought I'd pass this along. If anybody else has experienced similar trouble, I'd be interested to hear about it to see if maybe I really am just a hack. :-) Thanks for reading.

Also, since using the SRC Ultimate Bumper and switching to Parma tires, I haven't broken a single arm. I think there is REALLY something to the theory about wheel nuts catching on the boards and breaking an arm. The Parmas do a nice job of protecting the nut.

Any tricks to removing bearings from the hubs? Mine are stuck and the ole "shove something through one bearing to push the other out" is proving useless.

I switched from Cuffs' IIC setup to Dayger's Novak setup when I rebuilt the foam tire car, and I've really been liking the change. Both setups felt awesome, but to me, Dayger's setup seems a little bit less aggressive, and easier to drive smooth.

I did that but apparently I didnt take enough off. I was hesitant to take too much off b/c the part I would dremel off seems to be the weakest part of the arm and always breaks.

Im definately going to get some new rims for my club race. Was just wondering though since I know those pre-mounted Take-Offs are popular handout tires.

I wish Take-Off hadnt stopped using the Speedmind rims.

OK, I'm having a strange problem that I can't figure out (others have looked over the car as well ...2nd set of eyes kind of thing) ...got my car working great ...but I keep poping the belt off the spool, I've tried no belt tensionser, belt tensioner, new belt, everything I can think of ...nothing is binding up and the spool has the sides intact, but it keeps happening ...in 2 qualifiers and the mains last night ....anyone else ever experience this? And if so, what was causing it?

It happened to me but only when I had the belt really loose. Is your spool installed correctly? It might be flipped 180 degrees.

May sound obvious but check to make sure you haven't switched where your belts go on the center drive pullies. This will force them to ride on an angle which would cause the belts to pop-off.

You can also install the rear diff the wrong way, that will pop off, Don't ask how I know.

Cheers

Harsh,

Is there anything at all that's binding up your front axle? Are you tapping boards or anything when the belt slips? Seems like with a solid front axle, any stoppage of the drive train, even momentarily can make the belt jump.

Hi,

I had the same problems.
Now , since it is outdoor season, the impacts ar very slow but, still strong enough to "unround" the place whre the ftont nearings are secured.
I place two brand new bearings and after squeeze them in the plastic holders, they fell greety, like dirt old bearings.
Does somebody know how to solve this problem?

cheers

Pedro

Hi,
I saw some pics from your car and perhaps you can tell which parts I will need to buy to be able to use the Tamiya shocks.

thanks

Pedro
